Especially when they'd have had a good Villa payout. Clearly love football to go straight back in for a relegation battle. For what it's worth, I think they're still going to go down but they're going to be in a great spot for going straight back up again.

Smith confirmed as budgies boss on 10:16 - Nov 15 with 2280 views | monty_radio | I read today that Norwich are a club that likes to give its managers time. Looking over that claim, it certainly seems to be true of managers that have brought them a degree of success, but in general, it's not particularly noticeable. Since the war, excluding caretakers, Smith will be their 31st manager, during which same period Town have had 17. Smith will have more pressure than most of them, in the first place the doubtful task of keeping them up, and, if not, the more difficult task than perhaps it's been before of a swift return, especially if Webber were to depart.

Smith confirmed as budgies boss on 11:17 - Nov 15 with 2127 views | BlueBlood90 | Unfortunately I think that's a superb appointment for them and a much better option than Lampard would've been. Shakespeare joining Smith is a coup as well. He' s a really good assistant/coach.

Norwich haven't made many mistakes in the last few years. And this definitely is not a mistake. A superb appointment but still think they will get relegated and back season after. Hopefully we will get a chance in the next couple of years to play them again and finally win a derby game. It's been so long since we beat Norwich that I've forgotten the memory. We are on the up, if not this season then next.

Sad to say a great appointment for them and really rate Shakespeare as a coach. Gives them a chance I guess

Smith confirmed as budgies boss on 12:21 - Nov 15 with 1947 views | ArnieM | if Dean Smith is regarded as a” superb appointment”, ( by some ), it’s interesting to note that his record as manager is actually below that of Paul Cooks (points per match) . https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paul-cook/profil/trainer/8661 Obviously, You’ll have to search under dean smith to get his record up to compare. Lampards is better still. But I’d suggest these figures are beneficially skewed for Lampard due to his time with a decent squad at Chelsea, as Cooks is negatively skewed in his time with us due to the bunch of fluckwits he inherited that decided to down-tools, and the new squad this season finding their feet for the first 8 games.

I think what you're trying to say is these stats are meaningless Smith did well at Villa overall, although it does seem to have been unravelling for most of this year. Similar to Keane at Sunderland maybe

The Jeremy Gos goal against Bayern which they celebrate like it won them the trophy In actual fact, it got them to the UEFA Cup 3rd round?

Their European record still reads as: P6 W2 D2 L2 GF6 GA4 First round v Vitesse Arnhem 3—0 (H), 0—0 (A) Second round v Bayern Munich 2—1 (A), 1—1 (H) Third round v Inter Milan 0—1 (H), 0—1 (A)

In a way, yes , they probably are. But people love to use stats don’t they …and football seems to be run by them these days, both for players and managers.

It certainly gives them a much better chance of coming back up next season than they would have done under Lampard. This season is a write off
