Have you a booked appointment at Specsavers? If you answer 'yes', please explain why they've opened specifically for you.

Have a friend coming back from South Africa via Dublin tomorrow, who has been in Dublin for 10 days with family. He’s adamant that he doesn’t need a test when re-entering UK.

Ireland is treated as uk for those purposes, no test or need to complete a plf currently

new rules on 18:35 - Nov 27 by StokieBlue | How do you know that? It's also not the point is it? Why would you not take a test to protect your fellow populace? SB |
They definitely don’t. I’ve been away three times this autumn, on one occasion the tests I ordered never arrived so I was unable to register a test result. Never heard anything from PHE.

Correct. People just off for a bit of sun and a jolly who then complain about the ever changing rules and regulations regarding Covid make my blood boil.
new rules on 12:58 - Nov 28 with 750 views | BlueForYou | I booked a holiday in Turkey the other day, for the first week in May next year. Following day the new variant was announced. We haven't been away anywhere for 4 years, not even for one night. Just hoping its all over by then.

new rules on 19:29 - Nov 27 by north_stand77 | I really hope people take this seriously. There should be 'no way round it' From a personal point of view, I have just been diagnosed with a very serious cancer for the second time in my life. Unfortunately it took so long to diagnose so I am way behind treatment. Part of the reason was because nhs were concentrating on covid, which was prioritised (properly so too, but not particularly helpful to me and thousands of others.) If people take the new variant seriously, hopefully less people will be hospitalised and we all stand a better chance. If you have any doubts about jabs/maks etc, please bear this in mind as we all need to look after each ultimately |
Really sorry to read this S, I hope everything goes well for you.....
