Money available for him, he needs to restore his own credibility, town owners like the publicity…… I personally think it’s a good fit.

I really don't get this obsession with 442 from some our fans. Is there a successful team in the 21st century that plays 442 by default?

They don't live in the 21st Century!!

He got Derby into the play offs after years of them bottling it at the end of the season.

He took Chelsea into the champions league in his first season after they failed to qualify the season before, and an FA Cup final.

He also brought academy players like Mason Mount into the first team.

Yes he was sacked after a poor run of results. But it was a seven game run, so Chelsea were less patient the than our owners were with Cook. Prior to that run they were top of the Premier League in Demeter.

I think he’s out if our league but he’s certainly desirable.

Thought his record was pretty average until I looked it up,
it`s actually pretty good over 48% win ratio
would bring loads of connections and appeal to the "lost generation"

think we have the money to do it, but he would take some persuading but,and it`s a massive if, we could get him the scum would hate it which is always a bonus

Our owner's certainly don`t have this "we are only a mid table 3rd division club" attitude so maybe there`s a small chance

Praising him for taking Chelsea into the Champions League is a bit like praising the manager of Celtic or Rangers for finishing second. Jeez, even Paul Hurst could manage that. He was sacked because he didn’t know what he was doing.

At Derby he had more resources than anyone else, limped into the play offs and he looked tactically clueless. It was all ‘Frank Lampard’s Derby and no substance.

Anyway there is more chance of Ming the Merciless coming here than Lampard. Hail Ming!

Can't be that easy to take Chelsea into the Champions League considering they missed it the season before. And they had a transfer ban.

He was managing a champions league club last year.

He’s not dropping to league 1.

He's not stepping into a Prem job any time soon. I think he's a strong contender.

And yet Chelsea did not qualify for the Champions League the season before Lampard was appointed.

you are suggesting Paul Hurst could succeed where Antonio Conte failed. It’s a take I suppose.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

I can't see any chance of that happening. As people have pointed out he was managing in the Champions League last year so why would he want a job in League One?

However he has said recently that he's desperate to get back to work. If he'd gone to Norwich he would've lost most weeks and his stock would've dropped significantly. He will want a job where he can win most weeks in a similar way to Steven Gerrard and that's what might make us a decent proposition for him.

There will be money available to him in any job he chooses to go for.

Step back, we're mid-table in league one. Frank Lampard has recently interviewed for Premier League jobs. There is zero chance!

Think of the risk to him if he came here and failed. Where would he go next.

Let's be honest, if he wasn't a Chelsea legend, he wouldn't have managed them after 1 year at Derby. No manager gets the Chelsea job after 1 year of management in the Championship, so it's a unique situation anyway.

We can all see that this squad is the best on paper in this league, because we know the league. I would worry that Lampard isn't fully aware of these players, thus not being interested. But I'd live him to come here, think of what he could do to the vast amount of attacking midfielders we have.

I think his A level Latin is just what we need.

I believe it was GCSE at grade A, rather than A level. Different kettle of fish, but still an unusual qualification in this industry!

No.

High spender, much like his Uncle ‘Ary, spends the money with no consideration for the long term effects.

Would be on ludicrous wages at this level as well.

How can you say he's a high spender? At Chelsea all the deals were done by the club - he didn't want Werner or Havertz quite openly

So he will be able to spunk money, he currently lacks credibility and its good publicity?

Any view on how his teams play or tactically how this is a good fit?

He's nowhere near attainable, thank heavens.

Well Lampard has managed 2 clubs, 1 of those in the Champions league. Whereas Dyer has managed 0.

I wouldn't be too keen for Lampard but come on, he's clearly got more experience than Dyer.

He wasn't hired on as the Chelsea manager based on his management credentials, let's be honest. It's like me being hired on as a P.E. teacher because I was the head boy at that school once. I am IT trained (but wasn't the head boy- I should have been though)

I think you underrate both jobs he did - Derby had not been in play offs for couple of years before, got them there, beat Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds in the semi and then beaten by a Villa side who had huge investment and Jack Grealish, John McGinn, Tyrone Mings, Axel Tuanzebe and Tammy Abraham by the odd goal.

Then at Chelsea with a transfer ban he brought through likes of Mount, Abraham, Tomori, James etc and got them back into the top 4 which isn't an easy job

He'd negotiated the CL group stage as well, but just had a bad run in the league and Tuchel was available.

He's well out of our league, but there's no need to downplay his record

Doesn't matter why he was hired, he still has more experience than Dyer. That's just an objective fact, regardless of your personal opinions on each's managerial ability.

Agreed. His signings at Chelsea are coming good. Tuchel's performance has lowered Lampard's standing a little bit but Lampard was building something there.

He is not coming to league one anyway.

Truly impaired.

Not sure we live in the same galactico, we have no chance of getting Lampard as another poster said he turned down Norwich in the Premier League. I mean I love Town and I think we're a great club but let's be real for a second, why would he come here?

Money available for him - We've bought a whole new squad this season and we're unlikely to buy many more at least till after we go up

He needs to restore his own credibility - He's been linked with higher profile jobs than us and frankly if anything he loses credibility by making such a large drop especially if it doesn't work out

Town owners like publicity is probably the only point that you've raised that's on point but still because of all the points above it's never going to happen

One could argue that KD has been working within a management structure for longer and has been getting his badges. Really, the only core difference at play is Lampard was given a chance to manage, KD hasn't been given (or has not taken) that chance (Yet)

FWIW I don't necessarily think KD should be the ITFC manager over anyone else at this stage, though I do think he's qualified to be given a shot at this level, possibly even higher.
