Even if we sign Harris... 17:57 - Dec 9 with 4234 views | wkj | Or someone else we don't particularly want. They become a blue, so let's support them with all our energy - you never know, we could become the jewel in their CV. COYB - Let's get our season going.

Even if we sign Harris... on 19:47 - Dec 9 by Churchman | Now that’s a very good point. The fact of the matter is that whether they sign up Pep, Harris, Mowbray or Tintin, the person deserves our support. |
Agreed. I just hope there is rationale and logic to the appointment. My main concern with Harris is his reputation as a bit of a long ball merchant. But hopefully he can adapt given the tools. (If he were to be appointed). [Post edited 9 Dec 2021 19:58]

Even if we sign Harris... on 19:54 - Dec 9 by portmanking | It would be a catastrophic appointment. His style of play completely jars with our playing squad. We have minimal physicality which is what Harris' teams have relied on. You can't deny he did well for Millwall and seems a nice enough bloke but he's a big red flag for me purely on ethos alone. |
was'nt celinas wonder goal a result of a long ball from edmundson. or do you prefer the forty passes going nowhere and then walton hoofs it up the pitch.?

Even if we sign Harris... on 19:59 - Dec 9 by blueconscience | Will be funny on here though if he gets the job, everyone will be moaning about the style |
It's a bit like Dyche. He never gets a plum job due to the way Burnley play. ...but I think if he had a team with better players, he's a bright enough guy to change styles.

Even if we sign Harris... on 19:27 - Dec 9 by Marshalls_Mullet | He's an OK manager. But we've appointed on track record before, we need to be looker deeper at philosophy and style of play etc. Keane, Jewell, Hurst, Lambert, Cook, Mick all had promotions on their CV. Whereas Burley didn't. [Post edited 9 Dec 2021 19:28]

Like I said I’m not making a case for him or anyone else. - I happen to agree with you

I happen to think it's not as black and white as you paint. There's an opportunity to play possession-based football with a purpose. You only have to watch MK Dons Vs Plymouth last night to see that's possible.
Even if we sign Harris... on 21:17 - Dec 9 with 668 views | Churchman | Your stance on biscuits and how to consume may be may be about as acceptable as the 9th century Viking invasion, but you are 100% correct on this. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Even if we sign Harris... on 07:14 - Dec 10 with 558 views | CornishMariner | I suspect a lot commenting on here are die-hard fans that will go to matches whatever is served up, especially if there a few more wins. Would his style retain the loyalty of the 5-6000 that are influenced by the entertainment aspect? Is it too much to ask that we find a manager that can be a successful coach AND have a style that suits this squad? But, yes, if he gets appointed I would give him the benefit of the doubt and support him, hoping he is more adaptable than he appears.

Even if we sign Harris... on 18:03 - Dec 9 by itfcjoe | At the end of the day even Lambert was giving a very fair crack of the whip by the fanbase despite being their best ever manager, so sure everyone will get behind Harris or AN Other He might not be my cup of tea as a manager, or in my top few choices but he has always struck me as a very good guy so some of the comments about him are a bit off |
We need someone who will have the instant respect of our latest band of dry dick players, many of whom signed in part because of Cook. I don’t see Harris getting that.

Even if we sign Harris... on 18:09 - Dec 9 by Dubtractor | This. And its worth noting that a lot of us (me included) didn't want the Cowleys because of their long ball credentials, but that's not the football they are playing at Portsmouth is it? Thats not to pretend I wouldn't be underwhelmed by Harris! |
Many of us old'uns were distinctly underwhelmed when Robson came in. His managerial achievements, at that point, were nowhere near Harris's are now. He (Harris) is not an 'exciting' prospect. Doesn't get the pulses racing but could be just what we need at this point. [Post edited 10 Dec 2021 10:49]
