11 points is then, (n/t) on 20:46 - Jan 2 by Cheltenham_Blue | There is absolutely zero point in this kind of post. We either do it or we don't but multiple posts saying how we definitely won't does nothing at all. One game at a time, three points at a time, and we see where we are at the end of the season. Hopefully in 6th. |
Sorry but the point of my post was merely to point out that we now know excactly how far behind we are,now all the teams above us will end up after their games in hand,,

You have nothing to apologise for. Some on here seem to take it upon themselves to say what makes a relevant post or not. You were simply stating where we are and what is needed to catch-up.
11 points is then, (n/t) on 11:58 - Jan 3 with 1104 views | Bad_Boy_Mark | I actually think we will make the play-offs! Our first aim should be to overhaul the team directly above us - I believe it is currently Accrington - and once this has been achieved, then repeat the feat with the next team that is directly above us. Keep doing this until the end of season...it will probably take that long to take 6th spot but Rome was not built in a day! As someone pointed out above, the next 5 games look to be ones where results are obtainable. Let's go for it - this could be the start of an exciting end to the season!

We have two winnable games coming up next, so that (hopefully) becomes 4 decent results and a healthy 2.5 points per game. For my own sanity, that's how I'll look at the games, rather than the longer term herculean effort it will undoubtedly be!

11 points is then, (n/t) on 12:36 - Jan 3 with 1057 views | jayessess | Of our next 12 games, 9 are against teams below us in the league and the other 3 are against 7th, 8th and 10th. Use that to get within touching distance of the Top 6 and we give ourselves something to play for in some big games at the end of the season.

11 points is then, (n/t) on 13:48 - Jan 3 with 998 views | Darth_Koont | It’s still a tall order but a run of wins (which we haven’t had and the competition generally have had) can change everything very quickly. We know that the team has a high ceiling and can beat anyone. The big problem (and why we’ve never had a very good run) has been consistency and dropping points when we’ve not played well. The first hint of McKenna from the Wycombe game is that we’re focusing on tightening up and becoming harder to beat. Dare I say it, like Mick did when he took over. If Mick can turn losses into draws and draws into wins from such a poor start and with a side punching well above their weight, then I don’t see why we can’t achieve that and more with arguably the best squad in the league. But as I remember from that incredible turnaround, let’s take it a game at a time and see how we do.

11 points is then, (n/t) on 22:55 - Jan 2 by Blue_Heath | Incredibly unlikely to happen, I am looking for McKenna to better Cook's points tally and build some momentum for next season, play offs would be a bonus but really can't imagine we will make it. |
This is the Banter Era. McK will be our worst ever manager and out by Xmas.

11 points is then, (n/t) on 18:01 - Jan 2 by rgp1 | It's a bit like the 4 by 100 relay where unfortunately the previous 3 managers have passed the baton over late, leaving McKenna little chance on the last lap! |
Yeah but a good fourth runner could sneak a bronze!

11 points is then, (n/t) on 17:32 - Jan 2 by Nthsuffolkblue | I honestly can't see us doing it. Someone did point out that we only need worry about ourselves and if we get 2 ppg which is what we expected from the squad at the start of the season, we should have enough points. It just feels like the top 6 or so sides are doing a lot better than in most seasons. Perhaps there will be a few who will drop a good number of points over the rest of the season but it feels a massive ask to get into the play-offs from here. Which is also why McKenna can only be judged on results and not whether he can haul us into them. |
Lots of ifs & buts. But if the Gills & Lincoln games had gone ahead & if we had taken 6 points from them we would now be in 8th place 5 points off Plymouth in 6th place & I'm sure people would be alot more upbeat & hopeful. Granted other teams would have more games in hand but it just shows how quickly things could change with a couple of good results.

11 points is then, (n/t) on 18:31 - Jan 2 by textbackup | we finished about 8 points off 6th in the championship (in 7th) and i was told we were pushing for the playoffs.... thats got nothing to do with this thread, but just wanted to say it |
This would be a great point if the gap wasn’t actually 5 points
