Johnson’s supporters saying the rules were the problem on 08:49 - Jan 11 with 1900 views | GlasgowBlue | She’s right. Some of the outdoor rules at the time were ridiculous and had no basis in science. But they were the rules and they were law. Johnson broke the rules and broke the law and should resign or be replaced.

The majority of us will conform and follow the guidance, while our own Government show ‘wonderful’ leadership while breaking their own rules on various occasions. This lot are an utter joke of a party.

It's the political equivalent of the Evans era, except without Big Mick to steady the ship for a few years at least.

He has a defense in that the law as it stood, stated you could only leave your house for 1 of 4 reasons. The party was in his garden so he didn't leave his house as it was his garden. (All according to Adam Wagner who knows his stuff) I'd actually like to see him hiding behind a technicality because that would sum up perfectly what a piece of sh1t he is...

They argued his garden was an extension of his workplace last time for the other ‘party’. And obviously socialising in your workplace for drinks was illegal. He’ll need to decide which one he wants it to be, but it can’t be both. I fully expect them to try a technicality which will actually make it even worse. Wagner is very good, but even he appears to be unsure here from the tweets this morning? [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 9:27]

He was clear from what I read. Of course that Johnson may have a technical defense (Unlike everyone who attended) he still knew an illegal gathering was taking he place, he attended it, it was in the garden. So he still comes out stinking of sh1t.

That's basically it isn't it? Whatever way you slice this, it's really not a good look. I also find it hilarious their response is "lets wait until the outcome of the inquiry" as to whether the PM went to the party. Pretty sure he doesn't need to wait to tell us.

And his inability to hide a smirk when questioned about it tells a story. Entitled self serving prick who doesn't give a fck for ordinary people. End of. [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 9:38]

Yes. And he said it, on national TV, with a smug grin on his face. I see his supporters' defence is 'stop harping on about the past'...
