Maybe he’s requested a move. He didn’t come here to warm the bench and if he’s had personal issues it’s best he gets back to playing football.
If we give him a chance we’d have to drop players to accommodate him. We can’t keep stock-piling players. He could go out on loan and still be here next season anyway. |
McKenna's on record as saying he was happy with all our players but that some of them might want to move somewhere they'd be more involved. Last 2 games we've subbed on 3 different strikers in preference to him.
I can well imagine he might need a change of scenery, especially if one of the clubs looking is a Championship side. |  |

Pigott just 5 league starts and 3 subs has scored 2 goals he has not been given a chance he scored 47 times from 117 plus 20 sub appearances for a poor Wimbledon side he would come good given a chance IMO. | | | |

I don't disagree, but ultimately Pigott has a 3 year deal on lots of money - if he isn't the man for McKenna then you just have to take the opportunity to shift him if it arises as is going to be a hard deal for us to do otherwise as his stock falls.
If Pigott is on best part of £10k a week, and you can shift him to utilise that elsewhere, then you've got to do it |

He's actually made 14 league appearances (5 starts) for those 2 goals. Still it is true that he hasn't had a real opportunity to shine and has clearly had a difficult few months personally. That said, I don't think he's up to the standard we require and he hasn't taken his opportunities like Norwood and Bonne have. Add to that, he's only scored double figures in a league campaign on 3 occasions, one of those being non-league.
He's 28 and last season was the best of his career by quite a margin. I never fully understood why he was such an exciting signing to so many, but it was probably worth taking a punt on him. It hasn't worked out, if we're aiming to be a Championship side then we need better than him. He also seems like a professional and pleasant young man who deserves to be playing more regular football. If we don't move him on in January, I'd hope we do in the summer. |  |
