Great interview from Morsy 10:27 - Feb 17 with 3588 viewsHipsterectomy

I expected it to be the usual stuff players say before a match, they’re working hard and have confidence etc, but it was very interesting. He comes across as really enjoying what has been brought in. A few possible digs about previous coaching in it, how players should be taught specifically how to improve and not just “keep doing what you’re doing”.

I did think he may lose interest with Cook leaving but he seems more determined than ever to bring us success.

I never understood the whole 'players won't respect McKenna' idea. People just jumping to conclusions on new managers before we have them again I guess.

McKenna has worked with some top talent at the top of the English League. Players were always going to understand that and respect it and I guess recent player interviews have shown that they do respect him.

Great to see how quickly the culture change has turned around so fast

I do think it's important that we got off to a good start with McKenna. With a new manager, particularly one who doesn't have experience in their current role, I think it can very easily go sideways if early results are bad.

They style is very reminiscent of 'HaynesToe' who thought he was being cunning by naming himself after a player who used to score against them lots, but constantly gave himself away by referring to ITFC as 'you' or 'them'.

In the TWTD pub he’d be the fruit machine botherer. “Don’t hold that mate, wait for the nudges. No, next time. Put more money in. Got a spare cigarette mate?” Stinking of piss and desperation.

The Morsy hype is getting ridiculous. What’s he done? A nice interview? He’s bang average and hasn’t changed our season one bit since arriving. He’s one dimensional and has an attitude problem which will see him pick up suspension after suspension. Even Edmondson has proven to be better captain than him. He could not play another game all season and it wouldn’t change the outcome one bit, same with Evans and Edwards. Three of the worse midfielders we’ve had since dropping down.

You mean to tell me you have absolutely nothing else in your life that can take up this time? What a fookin loser.

In between bouts of desperately trying to tell people how good at fighting he was.

Or if you are experienced - that's pretty much the story of Cook's tenure!

Elephant is Nerdy - who sometimes posts some pretty interesting stuff, once all the 'Burley Ruined This Club' hyperbole is stripped away (I mean, that was Newmie, but both are two peas of a pod....)

Man above is either budgie, or Col Who. Let's assume budgie, as it is the height of Norfolk intellect to pretend to be from somewhere else - in this case Essex, which, for our friends from North of the border, might as well be Kenya.

If we assume the above to be true, then it is also true that the only reason the budgies exist is to have a rivalry with us, which would explain his presence on this board.

Vile specimen.

Indeed, probably doesn't take long for things to snowball in either case. If you lose a couple they'll be a temptation to dig out the players, who are just as likely to push back and decide the manager has no idea what they're doing.

Having a track record probably buys you a little more time, but not much. Get some results early on, look like you know what you're doing, then you get their full attention.

Give it a rest you big berk.

Berk is one of my favourite - supposedly - PG putdowns. Was often called it by my dad.

Very recently found out it's a shortening of the rhyming slang "Berkshire Hunt" which stung somewhat.

THIS IS DEMOC-RRRRRRR-ACY MANIFEST!

4 of those were missed due to the Accrington snitch. He’ll be fine and will lead us to Wembley

Had the ref seen it he might have sent him off there and then, so it can't really be dismissed.

His red for Boro at the start of the season looked ridiculously harsh, though.

Have always slightly guiltily enjoyed VoR/Nerdy/Elephant ... you have to make sure you're not taking any of it too seriously but there's a certain wisdom in there at times.

Agreed. Pretty sure it was him who broke the news of Royle going too, but from a sensible account he used to have.

He tries a bit too hard these days though.

I was impressed with Morsy's post match interview , Saturday, too... He appears to have taken it up a notch... We've needed someone to take a game by the scruff, at times... Definite signs of that , imo, from Sammy at MK, even if we didn't get the win.... You get the feeling that Sammy, is benefitting, big time, from McKenna's influence, in terms of his captaincy role, too.... Let's not forget, Sammy, along with most of our squad, only arrived in the Summer. With no ties to the area and no relationship with our club and fan base.. I'd say, a lot of those new recruits are now feeling more settled, have started bonding with the club and supporters, which, was always going to take some time... Things are coming together nicely, for me... It's been a while since I felt so much positive momentum and belief... I just hope that supporters can see the wider picture. Not get on players backs for the odd mistake or bad game. And not get too down if we drop points here and there... Our captain, is looking/sounding up for it. I'm sure that will rub off on the rest of the squad. As he mentions, those that aren't on board, will get left behind.
