I wonder how many Russian and Ukrainians have died already in the initial few hours of any fighting. Very sad. It must have been surreal the last few weeks being on either side and waiting to face combat, wondering if your death is imminent. Obviously that's the same with all wars but with the media being there it makes you appreciate more that's it's real people.

No surprise to me at all. I thought freezing three blokes’ ISAs might not put him off. Johnson will be blowing hard through his wobbling cheeks, upper and lower, the German bloke will apologise while checking the gas is coming through, Biden will need his potty emptying before his next nap and Macron will squeak a lot.

Putin is a standard dictator. The west has been asleep for years. It’s weak. If the Russians are to reform the USSR, now is the time. Their sphere of influence will be the old USSR border, less East Germany - and if I were them I’d demanding that as a bare minimum now. Might is right, sadly.

Their army is what, 800k with a million or two in reserve? 12k tanks and an Air Force is enormous too. A lot of their kit is first class. Not sure blowhard BJ or the rest of the west can do anything other than get on those knees, sadly.

Europe was always dependent on America’s might and those days are over. The poor people of Ukraine and the other countries to follow didn’t ask for this. Awful news.
