Will be a real shame if they have to put spikes or some other brutal architecture around it.

It is an incredible wall ride ledge. Say what you like about all other context but that’s a fact.

It really is one statue too far isn’t it? No a patch on the Sir Alf and Sir Bobby versions, questionable subject matter (arguably there are more deserving recipients - Warky anyone), and the design lends itself to being skateboarded on. Not the best decision ever.

So much sense, spoken here!! 👏👏👏. And at the end of the day, most struggle to see a resemblance with the Beat 😕. Without question, the sculptor has immense talent - perhaps misguided regards the outcome? 🤔

I've always said if one town player deserves a statue then it has to be John Wark.

Agreed. Whatever fondness we have for Beat, and however good he was. Then again, it's kind of a memorial innit so fair enough. I'm not averse to the idea of having a few statues of players around the ground.

Still stand by my thoughts that the pillars behind the Sir Bobby Stand should have pictures of these legends on them rather than random games like the Bonne keeper blooper mention.

What better place to have the legends pictures than as part of the stand named after the manager who won with them.

a niche perspective

I played Ipswich Town monopoly for the first time at the weekend and it has a decent idea of where the legends stand

Purple - Sir Alf and Sir Bob
Green - Warky, Mariner, Beattie
Yellow - Frans, Arnold and Micky Mills
Red - Butcher, Burley and Crawford
Orange - Holland, Magilton and Dyer
Pink - Stewart, Dozzell and Phillips
Blue - Bent, Osborne and Chambers

Obviously some omissions in there, but felt it covered the categories quite nicely

Has anyone got an entity relationship diagram for TWTD? After years of hanging around here, I still have absolutely no idea who loves who, who hates who, or what or how old is the source of any 'beef'.

Sometimes I think, "Cor these two are really laying into each other", and then it turns out that it's just a friendly piss-take, other times things seem nice and gentle and then all of a sudden there's an almighty conflagration that lasts for page after page.

I suppose not knowing who used to be who doesn't help either. And nobody ever seems to hate me no matter how coarse or tedious I try to be, which I find a bit insulting really. Couldn't somebody call me a c-unit or something, just once?

For some time before I looked closer I thought your username was something 'Old' ITFC.

This isn't relevant to anything, just saying.

I fully agree, you can only have so many statues at a ground. Warky certainly deserves one.
