Could there be a surprise exit? 14:23 - Aug 9 with 2571 viewsurbanblue

Offer to good to turn down for Woolfie??

Even with Ndaba presumably going out on loan do we need 5 central defenders?

Pure speculation I know but I wouldn't be surprised ...

If we're going to keep playing three at a time, yes.

Truly impaired.

I am surprised none of our players have (publically at least) been linked with moves away. Walton, Burns, Woolfy, Edmundson, even JD are all quality performers that could play in the Championship.

I thought the same. Maybe an offer had come in for Woolfie. But the Keogh news has been around a little while now, would have expected some kind of rumour to have broken.

Okay, I guess that makes sense. I just feel that Keogh has still a lot to offer to be backup. We will see ...

The club have been very good at keeping things quiet since the new owners came in. I mean, most signings have come out of the blue. No doubt if someone was leaving we wouldn't know in advance unless they were happy for us to.

Ndaba will go out on loan. Although he played down the chances of it happening a couple of weeks ago, KMc didn't rule it out, effectively said he'd play it by ear based on circumstances and the circumstances are we'll have another central defender and so his chances of playing will be very limited from hereon.

That offer would have to be what, £8m plus? Can't see it.

From what I've seen of Keogh, he is not a play out from the back type defender. Therefore his signing makes sense in that it gives KMc greater flexibility with his tactics.

Also, good cover in case of injuries. We only have 3 senior CBs, a 4th makes a lot of sense.

Take the blue tinted glasses off.

We’d accept 3m + add ons for Woolfenden or Edmundson I think.

Keogh makes it 5 senior CBS or did you not count one of JD, GE, LW or CB?

He’s actually very good on the ball with an excellent pass.
Also reads the game well, which is fortunate given the loss of a amused or two of pace.

I saw him a couple of times last season, didn’t look too out of place in the Championship. Looks to me like good cover for a relatively young defence and they will benefit from his experience.

I spent the last few weeks winding up a Blackpool fan about the walking stick and pension, guess who is laughing now!

Nonsense. Nothing at all suggests we would and we’d be mad to sell two players for 3m quid that will either be our centre halves for the next 10 years, or they progress through the pyramid.

Fairly obvious that the Yanks will be looking at the Downes situation with a WTF type perspective. We won’t be letting that happen again. And no Simpson isn’t a fair comparison.

He's been one of our best players since McKenna came in. He's playing tonight to regain fitness alongside a wing back and a basic League One centre back so I wouldn't read too mcuh into it unless it suits your agenda.

Well atm he's losing out in the physical battle against Nouble, who couldn't win a header for toffee when he was here... we haven't been at the races at all

75% - 9 shots on goal compared to their two, the only one on target giftwrapped.

Seems more like same old Town to me. Lot of the ball, no end product.

Ive seen a couple of posts about Wolfie playing to regain fitness?

He’s missed one match, 3 days ago through illness (supposedly). I’m not sure match fitness is an issue as he’s had a full pre season (as far as we’re aware)
