Hobbies outside of football... 12:55 - Aug 25 with 2980 viewsclive_baker

Got asked for a work thing what I like doing at the weekend, made me realise it was all quite generic. Spend time with family, cook a nice meal, golf, go out and do something, football, go to town for lunch / coffee, see friends etc.

Read a few others, one bloke has racing pigeons ffs and another one I read said go to antiques fairs. Can't say either of those appeal but maybe I need a new hobby.

What are yours?

TWTD.

No time for anything else, although there’s lots I’d like to be doing other than work and spending hours every day taking the kids to swim training. So I suppose you could say my hobby is watching children in swimming pools, but that doesn’t sounds quite right .

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Ipswich Bankrupting themselves and selling out to tax-avoiding tout gave me more time for other interests as I never bought a season ticket again and used the money on other interests - these included Cambridge Utd for a few years, trout fishing , bird watching, hiking, cycling, dabbling with antiques, and house renovations. I even tried golf. I’m sure the answer depends on your age and location - once kids arrive your hobbies are their hobbies

I am surprised you can find time to do all those things given the amount of time you spend trolling on football forums.

Seem to either be at work or ferrying kids to their sports events.
Can't remember the last time I done anything solely for myself.

I quite like to go out and do something too......

I don't mind cooking a nice meal, but go out for coffee?! It amazes me that that has become a thing! Especially if the pubs are open!

Edit: Perhaps I'd better list my own interests, rather than just criticising...

Ale, cycling (to the pub and to the match, but every day actually) portrait painting/drawing, gardening (as a necessity rather than for enjoyment) cryptic crosswords (Especially The Times).
