That's the best I've seen him play for us. Great work for the goal and he showed excellent strength for the shot that deflected wide, winning a header against a much bigger player. In his cameo league appearances and EFL Cup starts, he's shown much higher standards than he did last year.

I'd start him on Tuesday night.

He's certainly got something different. I always wonder how he'd do more centrally.

Very promising from him. Keep him on the up and it’ll be like having a new player

Getting a lot of love from his manager and teammates at FT. Great to see. A confident edwards could rip this division to shreds.

There is a sensational player in there imo and hopefully we are now starting to see it.

It’s what he does when we he plays… we just don’t utilise him for some reason.

He gets the ball to his feet and he charges at players, we need to use him, he does things nobody else can. He’s never been given a run of games.

As you say. He should start tuesday

Definitely turned a corner and now looks like he has something to offer. Not sure he has warranted a start yet but it is good to see.

Clearly well liked and is always really energetic during the warm up which must help everyone around him.

The one at the corner of too much postering and step over street and finally an end product and a viable member of a promotion seeking squad road.

I would argue he has never been given a fair shot personally.

I agree , deserves a start but instead of who is the problem? Harness maybe but he’s scored and played well today so would be a bit unfair on him to drop out

Really pleased for him, everything he done yesterday was positive. I think he's much more effectual coming in from the left.

As McKenna alluded too, he's the best in our squad at beating a player, tired defenders must dread it

I'm not really disagreeing, but the whole 'deserves a start' thing is not so important any more. Especially with five subs, I think the whole squad are of the mentality that you contribute just as much by being a 'finsher' as Eddie Jones would put it, as you do by being a 'starter'.

I think Edwards is probably best employed in the latter role, usually, but will sometimes get a run in the former. But neither role is more important than the other. That's the beauty of what KMac seems to be achieving and instilling here.

I liked that he licence to attack yesturday and we saw more of the eary start Edwards in comparison to the one who's been coming on recently. I did wonder if he was being coached in a different manner and it does appear to be the case as he's beginning to show some excellent understanding of when to try something or to be cautious and sensible.

a niche perspective

I agree. He is definitely doing things differently now. Before he had a stock shimmy/step over routine he went through and all the full back had to do was stand there any wait for him to make his move. He is more varied now and less predictable.

The way he just got on a beat the player for our third yesterday was something he wasn't doing last year.

The "some reason" being the lack of an end product. It's all very well doing the tricks and drops of shoulder - and it's lovely to watch - but it's ultimately pointless if you waste it after that. Which is why he dropped out.

He seems to be developing that end product now - which is presumably due to better coaching - and that will make him lethal at this level (at least). As others have said, a great player to bring on against tiring defenders.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Really? He got 11 league starts and 7 sub appearances last year and showed little in the way of end product. But people are taking note of his end product this season from just 60 minutes worth of sub appearances and a great showing in the pizza cup.
