Plymouth’s fixtures coming up 12:58 - Oct 5 with 4695 views | textbackup | They don’t play a current top 8 team until they play us in the middle of Jan. That says to me we need to keep pushing them until such point that their fixtures get tricky, where they might then fall away a bit

Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 16:52 - Oct 5 by Chrisd | If they continue to do well, I’m sure those loan players won’t be going anywhere in a hurry. |
The opposite is true, surely? Over the last couple of seasons we've seen that when loan players are playing out of their skin their parent club's eyes light up, they start thinking about whether they might be able to test them at a higher level, extract a bigger loan fee or even just use them in their first team. Look at MK Dons last season - Max Watters, Ethan Robson and Peter Kioso all playing well in their first team, got recalled to play for their parent clubs in January. Or us, really, if we'd had Plymouth's budget Walton and Bonne would've been sent elsewhere in the transfer window.

Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 16:16 - Oct 5 by StokieBlue | All their best players seem to be loans. Would be interesting to know if those are season-long or likely to be recalled. I know I could look this up but I can't be bothered. SB |
I can see similarities with Forest in the PL this year as they had a load of loans last season. I understand why Plymouth do it as they can't complete with the likes of Ipswich or SW financially so it's the only option for them to stay competitive for promotion. If they go up - or even if they don't - that's 5 key players they've got to replace next year. half a team, possibly in a higher division. If we go up, JJ aside, the squad are contracted players which we can choose to keep or not and obtain fees for.
Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 17:37 - Oct 5 with 1103 views | OldFart71 | No point in worrying about Plymouth, Wednesday, Portsmouth, Barnsley etc. They will all continue to push on. We need to make sure we don't slip up. As long as the defence holds out and we can continue scoring two goals per game we won't end up losing many games.
Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 17:51 - Oct 5 with 1091 views | N2_Blue | Plymouth looked by far and away the best team we have played. Their record against the top 6 is impressive, so see no reason why they are not in it for the duration. The positive is Plymouth's victories against the top 6 are all at home, so they have some long trips on the road including Portman Road. I think Portsmouth are pretty average and I don't see much else to fear other than Plymouth and maybe Wednesday will get it together but they're not looking anything special currently. This is our season, i cannot see two better teams than us and think Plymouth and Town will battle it out upfront. A team like Barnsley or Bolton could go on a run, but Bolton look short of goals and it was good to see them lose to Cheltenham last night.

Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 17:55 - Oct 5 with 1085 views | jayessess | As it stands, by the way, on points per game, 6th-placed Bolton are tracking 83.6 and 4th-placed Portsmouth 96.6 (Wednesday are only course for 88.1 points, having played 2 games more).

Not necessarily, if the parent club is doing well themselves, I’m sure they’d much prefer to leave loan players where they are so they can continue to get game time.

Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 19:47 - Oct 5 with 1009 views | Churchman | The trick is not to worry about anyone else and aim for the top one. End of. If the division is tight at the beginning of March, that’s the time to look at who has who. Until then, keep winning. Unlike previous seasons, anyone who beats us is going to have to have a very good day. It’ll happen, but the best news of the last five days is that a disappointing draw, a very disappointing defeat was followed by six points. Boom! Suck it up rivals. It makes Saturday just as crucial as Portsmouth if not more so. If we win on Saturday…… omg we are set for the best season in 22 years. Ok I’ve had an afternoon beer catch up with my geordie mate, but it’s how I feel.

Well Swansea are 11th and none of their players are playing as well as Morgan Whittaker...

Portsmouth, McK called him the best striker outside of the top leagues in world football after the game. (Or something along those lines anyway)

it was "one of the best young strikers in world football". Fairly objective description of the starting striker for the U19 European Champions to be fair. If Scarlett has 20 apps and 8 goals or so by January, Spurs will try and get him a Championship gig. [Post edited 5 Oct 2022 21:02]

Plymouth’s fixtures coming up on 13:02 - Oct 5 by Kieran_Knows | I personally can't see them keeping it up. They've got a tiny squad and 1 or 2 injuries to key players and the wheels will fall off. I can only see us getting better, given the depth we have in the squad. |
I think they’ll stay in the top 2 but their issue is loanees more than squad size - they have 5 players on loan. Azaz and Longwijk are at Premier League clubs but Mumba, Whittaker and Cosgrove are all from the Championship and if there’s a clause for a recall in any of their contracts, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s taken up.

Scarlett is 18 so very unlikely he would be getting any game timer at Spurs so hard to see him being recalled. The cream is already rising to the top of what was a lop-sided League 1 last season so it ma take more points than usual to get promotion this season, but it's pointless worrying about what games the other contenders have coming up. We just need to remain consistent e.g. taking 3pts from bottom of the table Morecambe on Saturday is a must.

It's less that they'd recall him for game time at Spurs and more that they'd recall him and send him back out to QPR.
