Nearly as bad a debut as Aluko.

Rather he got his rust out in this game, hopefully he's ready to go at full pelt in the games that actually matter shortly.

Thought he looked like a player who's been out 5 months but the right ideas were there. When he gets his touch and rhythm right he'll be great. Really don't think he was that bad given the context of the game etc.

Now I'm a fan of Ladapo but must say if you think Camara was bad.. what was ladapo. Me and my boy laughed as we watched him Walk around for 2 minutes.

On camara though. Not really much to say. Will need plenty of games before he's ready for a run of 1st team games imo but there were bits in there that showed his potential

a niche perspective

Ladapo was the one player you really wanted to sign wasnt he so what does that say about your footballing brain......

Ha! My thoughts exactly. If camara turns out to be as good as aluko i'm going to start celebrating when i see terrible debuts.

Thought he did alright. Bit rusty , understandably . But for a first game back after a long lay off, and into a new team. Didn't think he was bad at all..

I thought he did fairly well. And showed some nice attributes. Clearly finding his way back after a long lay-off.

I left the game quite enthused about what he will bring - which is some energy and ability to move with the ball.

Aluko's debut was atrocious, and I stupidly questioned his acquisition. And he's turned out well.

Where was Dom Ball incidentally, still injured or being rested?

This cup has actually been handy to give squad players some competitive matches

Keogh too, seems particularly handy for these games, to help lead the younger players

Hladky, Keogh, Ball and one other (I still feel we lack an alternative to Ladapo) are a fairly decent second strong spine in my opinion

Dom was suspended as a result of two yellow cards.

Hladky must have the lowest save percentage of any keeper in the EFL since his time here!

Lets hope Walton stays injury free!

The one he let in did look very save-able from the iFollow coverage tho - wouldn't have got past Walton methinks.

Not sure why you've got 16 down votes for this relatively innocuous post.

Certainly looked rusty, touch was awful, but to be expected after such a long lay off. It's one of the benefits of being in this competition, gives players like him a chance to play in a competitive game and get up to speed. Will take him a few weeks to dust off the cobwebs I'm sure, but certainly looks to have the physicality to help the side. Hopefully we can get he and Aluko fit and firing for the 2nd half of the season.

Can only speak for myself, but as one of the downvoters, my thinking was "for heaven's sake give the lad a chance!" - since as you said, Camara was rusty but that was only to be expected - & how else is he going to get up to speed than playing in games like last night's?

Guess it depends on how the post was intended, which is hard to gauge through text. I took it as a bit tongue in cheek, especially after following up with 'but Aluko turned out alright'.

Totally, he needs games like last night. I expect we'll see him introduced off the bench in league games next until he's up to speed.

Certainly hard to read tone I agree, but felt if it was intended as tongue-in-cheek rather than purely negative, the OP would have 'softened' it in some way with a hint such as ;) ! or emoji.

I recon Gassan Ahadme would be getting the Ladapo role in these games, had he been available. Would have been a good way of getting him up to speed with how KM wants to use him.. Agree , though, that these games are handy. Especially when you look at Leigh, Burgess, Aluko, Ahadme, Camara, all needing match minutes to help, coming back from longer term injuries. Won't hurt us to stay in this competition as long as we can, and get through a few rounds of FA cup, either.
Not sure on Ball's situation. Hoping he was just given a night off. He's not long back from an injury. He might not start against Derby, but he's a very strong bench option..Maybe Evans or Morsy picked up a slight niggle, and KM playing it safe.?

Was very tongue in. Cheek. Camara is a good player just didn't have a good start. Wasn't saying he is a bad player. Hence comparison to Aluko and his debut. Was just an observation.

Aluko is my favourite player!
