so, take this post for what it is.

Anyone else notice that for both PV goals, he completely missed his header?

Yep.

Speaking in the manner of corporate bullsht that I am expected to during the working day, there is an opportunity for improvement there.

The first one looked very awkward, as if he tried to adjust at the very last second. I suspect Woolfy may have got a slight touch on it, which made it impossible for Ball to adjust in time?

Yep, and without sounding overly critical, Him and the 3 CB's were pretty poor last night.

Worth noting his pass that opened up the pitch for our first goal though.

Bit of an up and down night I think.

Tbf he's probably a bit rusty, hasn't had much game time. His injury at the start of the season not helping as Morsy and Evans have been immense since we kicked off.

I think a little more game time and he doesn't make those errors.

He's looked pretty good from what we've seen of him, before last night. Did a few things well, turned out of trouble in tight spaces well on a few occasions. However gave the ball away far too much and missed 2 crucial headers.

I'm sure it was just an off night. same for the other 3, who have been fantastic on the whole, this season.

I would agree, he is a championship level player and it must have been frustrating to be on the sidelines waiting for a chance.

He is a completely different type of player to Evans or Morsy and I just wonder whether he would be better in a three holding with Humphries and one other bombing on.

2 CB’s*

We play a back four now, Donacien and Davis are now very much left and right backs in a back four.

I think their goals were a comedy of errors from Ball and our defence... on 13:28 - Oct 26 with 2050 viewsunstableblue

... but we got away with it, and claimed the three points, because it was Port Vale.

We haven't played really well as a unit, to a man, for many games... I thought we might really turn it on last night after the second goal, and a weak start, but we made it hard for ourselves by the sloppy defending

Ball did some good stuff in the middle and was closing well and breaking up at times, and he was feeding the young star Humphreys well.... but he was also a bit error strewn.. and was the final fault in both our games.

He was rusty and to be fair to Port Vale their press was troubling a lot of our players. He'll come good, and may well start at Charlton.

I do think we will 'click' again soon and put on a dominant and quality display and blow a team away! but not sure it will be at the Valley.

I do think the difference this season is we're winning when not playing really well.

Even when we're not playing well we're creating more chances and conceding fewer chances than the opposition. In previous seasons when we've got better results than we deserved we weren't doing that i.e. we were scoring from very limited chances and not conceding from a high number of chances.

The performances might not be slick and we can definitely do better but all the stats show that we're still deserving to win lots of games

Right wing. Which probably explains why he isn't having the same impact as last season. As a wing back he had more space to run and a much better starting position for a dazzling run.

Yep Wolf got a slight touch on the ball for their first when you see it from another angle.

Thought Ball done well enough, 79% successful pass rate, involved in first goal and laid it to Cam for the second.

He will start Saturday 100%. Cam's time will come.

Yes. Match fitness will soon sort that out. Fir second goal the scorer ran away from Freddie and was completely free. But we won!!

I think Freddie collided with Edwards so his man had a free hit

Ladapo had already lost him, gets caught napping, then gets blocked off by Edwards and his marker trying to retrieve the situation
