Isn't it just another layer of obfuscation much like Meta were trying to make with Metaverse and that's not gone well.

Fiik. It seems to be a way of speed dating with people that don't exist. Have a chat with a number of virtual people before presumably asking them for a second date.
Then what? If they don't actually exist you get to have a pretend long distance relationship chatting to a computer programmed person?
I suppose it could be handy practice for someone who lacks confidence dating or is new to the dating scene, then onto trying dating for real? Or is the idea that you get to meet/date your virtual partner using VR?

Surely it's two real people talking in VR? I don't think it's a big deal.

Must be a lot of room for disappointment when you've spent months chatting to an impeccably good-looking avatar then the real person shows up.
Tbf, that's no different to dating on apps. Back in my single days I went on a couple of dates where the lady was using a photo from at least 10 years and 3 stones ago.

In humble opinion the Metaverse is really in its infancy and there is a long long way to do. Think the original version of the web, very slow, clunky, nothing like the infrastructure that is prevalent today.
