Reread the emphasised point. Shame for football. Not a focus on being a shame for you. I care nothing for their club either, no one as a Supporter of Football wants a franchise club, let alone one that has a ground way too big for them. The point being if it needs spelling out is that it looks bad for the game generally when clubs cannot fill grounds and that goes for ITFC too, it’s ticket prices, poor ownership, clubs that have fallen away from lofty positions in the pyramid.

What do you define as a ‘franchise club’? Few football clubs in this country are owned by the supporters or for example a local brewery family. Those days are long gone. Ancient history. The larger ones are owned by people from all around the world. Even if a club has single owners like Gibson at M’boro, it is owned by him not the supporters and this can end badly as it did with Morris at Derby. A football club identity is really defined by its supporters and it’s history, it’s environment and it’s place in a community. I watched the Newcastle game on tv with my geordie chum on Sunday. He couldn’t care a less if the club is owned by head chopping Arabs or Satan himself. He’s loving it and so was every single away supporter at dismal Southampton and back in Newcastle.

Technically all League football clubs are, through the "Golden Share" issued by the EFL allowing them to take part. In any case, Ipswich were not picked up and transplanted to another place, NFL franchise-style. Which is what people are referring to.

In MK Dons case, they sell any half decent player (or manager). They've brought a lot of money in over the last 18 months.

There is the the indoor arena that's puts on a few events, snooker, darts etc, IDK if that goes into the clubs pocket. Equally not sure who owns the land it's on are tbe various shops and restaurants paying rent? Either way they have always had terrible gates. My nearest game though so I'm happy for an easy journey to watch the town

It looks bad that MK Dons cannot sell out against Morcambe in the League cup? MK Dons have never packed their ground to capacity, in fact, the majority of clubs don't. It's actually a good thing for football that this franchise club is struggling for support.

Did well to get 1674. haha They don't have loads of fans anyway and the stadium is actually "too big for them" so it looks worse. Had 10k at their league game last season.
