That Cashin from Derby 20:33 - Nov 9 with 2535 viewsBobsthename

I think his the sort of player we want i wonder what he would cost us would definitely shore up our defence.

Agreed, thought he really stood out against us and they trusted him to start a lot of their moves from the back (and couldn't believe he was that young when I looked it up after).

Our defence doesn't really need shoring up, but I agree that he looked very composed against us and is a player I wouldn't mind seeing here, though that's unlikely unless at least one of our current first choices leaves.

I think if we go up he has to be a main target best young defender i’ve seen for ages and is definitely going places.

I think he is probably the best defender in this league so i disagree.

Derby will take £450,000 over a three year payment schedule, with top-ups for appearances, promotion, and international call-ups, along with a 20% sell-on clause, passed through a further two sales, or £300,000 Cashin-hand.

Sorry to have wasted your time, but then you wasted mine by suggesting that our defence needed 'shoring up'.

I think you may be overstating things based on a very limited sample tbh. On Sunday he got sent off after being badly caught on the wrong side of a non league defender in the FA cup.

He looks decent, and a great prospect, but 'best defender in the league'? Not convinced by that just yet.

He had a decent game against us, but to say he is the best defender in the league is a ver bold statement. Suspect he is not by a long way.

We should be looking a division higher for talent when we look to upgrade.

By all accounts he is having a decent game tonight against Liverpool premiership strikers taboo.

I thought the same - we have seen very little although I was impressed when I saw him against us. Definitely thought he was by far their best player. However, watching the highlights back and reading the match report he was at fault for at least one chance too. So I thought I would see how well he has played generally, and this site has him much better than any of our defenders:

I was impressed with him when we played Derby recently, he’s only a young lad and they rate him very highly. I can’t see him being allowed to go cheaply if Derby fail to go up. He certainly looks a player with plenty of potential and can play at a higher level.

Agreed on that, they are probably in no hurry to see him go either

He'd certainly fit very nicely on our left side of the back 3

I agree he looked impressive. He's only 11 months older than Baggott though. I wouldn't want to block the latter's pathway.

Having said all that, Keogh would surely be past Championship football next year (assuming we get there), so I suppose an extra option in that area wouldn't hurt. Also if Keogh stays on as a coach (who better for him to learn from than Kieran), who better for young CBs to learn from than someone who has been playing in this modern era, and under the self-same system.

The defence is fine and we are well covered.

People need to stop obsessing about this, it's not FM with a cheat formation, we are going to concede goals sometimes.

Pretty audacious to think if we could be in the running to sign this guy we shouldnt do. He will be playing in the prem within the next 2-3 years. If we could somehow sign him in the summer after getting promoted and Derby staying in L1 then we absolutely have to and we will either have a successful season and be able to keep hold of him or we make a healthy profit. As much as I expect him to have a very good career at least 1 level above where we are at the minute, Baggott will not be at the same level as Cashin now in 12 months time.
