Maguire too. He's been awful for nearly 18 months now.

Yes, quite. Good to see that form counts for something with Maddison included, but I'd have had Toney ahead of Sterling, especially with a fair amount of creativity available for selection in the midfield.

Dunk or Burn should be in instead of Mings/Maguire IMO

Mings isnt very good though. Not international standard anyway.
England squad on 13:47 - Nov 10 with 2229 views | Vaughan8 | We used to have a decent defence. Now that looks the most dodgy. Imagine a back 3 of Maguire, Dier and Mings **shudder**

I wonder if Mings will drop back down to the Championship or is another Premier League club likely to take a punt on him?

Think of the CB quality England have had in the past, and now Mings makes the squad.

Sterling starts every game and has been superb for England, why would you leave him out for an uproven striker at this level?

England squad on 15:13 - Nov 10 with 1770 views | Mercian | England's best CB over the last year has been Tomori so no suprise he has been left out. With the exception of Bellingham who cannot be ignored it's seems like Southgate has taken The Rugby Union approach and chosen not to pick players not playing in England. Mings despite him being an ex Ipswich player is not a patch on Tomori nor are to a lesser extent are Coady, Dier and even Maguire. [Post edited 10 Nov 2022 15:16]

I totally see the argument, but what with Kane coming off with fatigue this week, I would like to see a straight up and down striker in the squad to come on for him. I prefer Toney to Wilson. Sterling's form this season has got to be a worry, and there is plenty of creativity already. I would be delighted if Sterling rips it up and wins the golden boot. I would be very happy to eat as many portions of humble pie as you can find!
