I think it is a valid question. Recently we do seem to have let the oppo score from just about every shot on target.

And today was dreadful - a keeper should never be beaten at their near post.

Agreed. His frailties both with the ball and his actual goalkeeping are leading to a nervousness at the back. Been poor the last couple of months now.

Frailty with the ball?!? He's one of the best keepers I've seen with the ball at his feet outside the PL. Poor for a couple of months? Don't even know what to say. SB

At least once a game he passes the ball to the opposition putting us on the back foot. Did you miss that today?

Given he's asked to play loads more passes and with higher accuracy than blast keepers outside the very top teams I think that's pretty good. You seem to be expecting him to be a 50m GBP keeper. You aren't going to get anyone better with his feet and playing in this style outside the PL. SB | | | | Login to get fewer ads
When was the last time Walton on 18:12 - Nov 12 with 1667 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Much more recently than Hladky. I honestly think that if we had a better second choice, he might be dropped. We don't and so we shouldn't. Hopefully he will be back on top form very soon.

Poor for a couple of matches - possibly three though not sure if I'd blame him for the Port Vale goals - rather than months, I'd say.

Why is it nonsense. Statistically he's one of the worst in the league on saves v shots on target.

He's the league one Ederson. His passing is excellent.

Article basically summarises that save % is useless as it doesn’t take into account the quality of shots/chances - which is somewhat obvious and fair Advanced analytics however are more useful. The analyst have Walton ranked just 12th in the division for goal prevention, which is the difference between goals conceded and expected goals conceded based on the quality of the effort. His rate is actually a negative figure meaning that he’s conceded more goals than the average keeper could be expected to concede from the shots he’s faced https://theanalyst.com/eu/2022/08/league-one-stats-2022-23/ I’d echo those in this thread that have mentioned that he’s got plenty of credit in the bank to forgive a wobbly spell, but there’s no doubt he is going through one at the moment
