For context Instagram has approximately 400 engineers. WhatsApp had 30 when it serviced 450 million users. According to LI data twitter had 3,000 before the acquisition.

I work in for a large software company so know all the the different depts required to function from data warehouse staff / cloud engineers / dba's looking after the backend right through dev, qa, pm's, marketing, sales, architects etc.
7500 still seems a lot of staff for a live solution. |
