Is everyone alright? 11:26 - Dec 15 with 7137 viewsSlippinJimmyJuan

I feel a bit under the weather, and a little bit flat and anxious in the run up to Christmas, despite looking forward to it. Quite a nice day where I am though, so will probably take a good, long walk later. Eager for kick off on Saturday, although Wycombe worry me.

Have been flicking through last night's and this morning's threads and have found them to be quite tetchy with a lot of people getting their claws out for no real reason. So I ask, how are you today? What's good? What's bad? What are you going to do about it?

P.S. no bickering on this thread please and thank you.

Trying one of those leg massage things and trying to do some yoga (the later not helped by the spaniel wanting to join in)

All in all I feell a bit 'meh'

Is it one of those "happy ending" leg massages?

I think I'm a bit behind you but on a similar path. Absolutely rubbish so I wish you well and hopefully that will all pass over the next week :) Never really known a cold like it.

That doesn't sound fun, are you finding it worse with the cold weather? Looks like it should warm up a bit next week which will hopefully make the mornings a bit less brutal.

You could have stumbled across the next big health trend with dog yoga, I'm sure you would be able to market that to young, metropolitan professionals with the right chutzpah!

Hope you ok pal . Off work with flu going around. Diaphragm in complete agony if you move or cough. It's that time of year where everywhere is pitch black by 4ish. Bring on Spring lol.

I am feeling OK I guess. I finish for the christmas break tomorrow so am looking forward to some downtime.

Christmas is a time of stress and worry for many. I think there is far too much made of it commercially (Buying expensive gifts, food, etc). People feel pressure to have "the perfect christmas". I stopped buying into all that crap years ago. As long as I have some nice time to relax and spend time with family, I am happy.

Same to you mate, and hopefully you're on the mend soon. I do like this time of year, but when you're not feeling well and stuck in bed, it sucks the life out of you. Fingers crossed you're back at your best next week

I just find calling it a Roast dinner in between some time off work helps, takes away all the noise and rampant consumerism.

Agree. I just see it as some time off work with lots of eating and watching movies!

Lovely, enjoy the break and hopefully a chance to recharge!

Completely agree, love seeing my family and a bit like you, don't go mad with any of it. I just find there is a strange atmosphere in the air by this point of December where everyone is on tenterhooks, and I'm the sort of soppy git that picks up the vibe.

Am hoping you wake up Christmas Eve feeling full of life and vim.

I'm in a mixed mood really, I thought when I returned home on Tuesday evening I was finished until January, since then however I've been slotted into work on Friday and Saturday, then Mon-Weds. I don't mind, I love the job and in all honesty I would have been climbing the walls or an alcoholic by January but just taking some mental adjustment.

Have Christmas Eve-NYE booked as leave though and am looking forward to that, off up to Scotland on 27th.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Bit of a cold going round our household. Little ones have been very snotty but seem to be on the mend. Madge and I are both mentally exhausted.

Hope you're OK Slippy.

I'm a solid 7/10. Working weird hours at the moment but part and parcel of having clients in other countries. I've not got much time off for Christmas, it's just a long weekend for me as I'll be working until Friday 23rd and back again 27th. My wife's a nurse and working Boxing day, so we intend to make the most of Christmas eve and day. It's the first one my little girl has known much about so she's super excited which is really nice. She's buzzing to leave a mince pie and carrot out.

I blame the lack of midweek games for people being on edge. Tuesday night is usually (well theis season at least) something to look forward to and break up the week.

Don’t think I’m the only one with minimal interest in this World Cup…

Covid hit me last week, now recovering. Off to Suffolk to visit relatives this weekend (I live in York) - I never feel quite prepared for the Christmas visit and it's always rushed having to see many people, as my my relatives don't visit the North so all the pressure is on us!

Mum's dementia is progressing so it will be an interesting weekend.

It is what it is, got to keep on.

The best mental health medicine I have is to go for a walk and try to spot things, like birds, or unusual brick work, on buildings, something different to make your mind wander.

Thank you very much, and the same to you too!

It sounds like you are adjusting to it well but it is always difficult when work plans change last minute. Hope you enjoy your festive break up in Scotland, sounds like you will have earned it.

All good thank you, glad to hear you're on the positive side of that sliding scale :)

Those weird hours over Christmas can make it all a bit of a blur at times so glad to hear you'll be enjoying your time with your family. I'm pretty sure the big man with a beard likes an alcoholic beverage with his mince pie, don't forget to leave that out!
