Old people 16:50 - Jan 15 with 3083 views | The_Flashing_Smile | Well I'm going to think twice about trying to be helpful. Just now, at a Tescos, a cashier said to a guy "You can get a discount if someone has a clubcard". The customer started looking around, I was finishing paying at the self-serve checkout. The cashier said it again as I finished, so I stepped in to zap my card on the terminal: "There you go... as long as I'm not paying!" I said, joking. An old lady behind him in the queue then piped up indignantly: "Hey they asked me, not you!" she said. "Erm, what difference does it make?" said I. "Well you're going to get the points now!" was her reply. "I didn't even think about points, I was just trying to help the bloke out" I said, "Do you want the cash equivalent?" (I was getting a bit sarcastic by now). "No. Just go!" she said. WTAF?! I thought I was helping someone out and now I feel bad, and a little bit angry. The points must have amounted to something like 70p. I know there's a cost of living crisis but crikey, try and think of others rather than yourself all the time! Sorry for the rant, just had to share! xx

To be fair, I took it that the cashier, the customer and the OP were all included.

Not everyone wants to hand over their details, what they bought and when, just to get a few groceries. Sainsburys give 0.5% for all that nformation. Better to just shoplift something every so often.

It was a £7 bill, so in that case it was 7p? I dunno what the points equate to to be honest, the point is it wasn't enough to have a row about!

Not sure how your logic's working there! I'm happy to help someone out when there's no cost to myself.

Even more happy when there’s a Clubcard benefit innit. We see you Dolly.

Old people on 09:24 - Jan 16 with 1529 views | blueasfook | So you basically pushed past a little sweet old lady in your eagerness to get a couple of extra points on your club card, and then verbally abused her? Nice one mate.
