Lovely stuff Town 08:57 - Mar 19 with 3801 views | Dyland | What a thing innit. Walking out of Portman Road with the sun pushing through the March skies, still light, the rain having eased for a moment, with a wide grin on yer face. Can we play a prem reserve team or someone on Saturday please? It doesn’t always come off but at times it’s like watching poetry in motion. How immense are Morsy and Luongo? How sublime are some of our passages of play? If it’s all too late to secure autos, well whatever, can’t wait for the playoffs. I simply love watching us play. If you can’t enjoy this, football probs ain’t for you.

They're all drinking fine. Some of the 2005s need a few more years though. It's very stressful :) COYFWINE

Hallelujah - as McKenna said to the fans…. Just ‘enjoy the ride’ on 11:26 - Mar 19 by unstableblue | It was a simple message on the recent joint interview with Ashton… he hopes will get onboard and just enjoy the journey I certainly am… hugely Even the pessimists around have stopped panicking and griping… and are purring at the football on the pitch Where I differ to you is that I’m enjoying the project also… I am loving the regeneration off the pitch and connection to US pension fund People need to wake up to the fact that McKennas position won’t be being questioned until the end of next season.. rightly so… so everyone get behind the team and the direction… stop the negativity during a blip |
I'm sort of somewhere in the middle. I really enjoy the way McKenna has us playing and I feel like I'm watching a coach with the potential to be genuinely top drawer. The players are great too, not just in terms of ability but they seem genuinely likeable. I sit in S4 so get to see Wes doing his weird pre-match ritual every home game and without fail he applauds the fans as he runs over and applauds the fans when he runs off to join the huddle. It's a small thing but shows the kind of character you want to see from your players. And who doesn't love Conor Chaplin, ffs? Quality footballer and all round top guy. For me though, there is also a fairly substantial 'but'. This league is dross and I don't enjoy anything much at all about League 1. The officiating is terrible, the sh!thousing is next level, and some of the teams are just abysmal. What that ultimately means is most of our matches follow two basic patterns: teams come and try to play us and we batter them or they park the bus, waste time from the first minute, kick us off the park, and hope to nick a point and either succeed or we find a way to scrape through. Much as it's nice to batter sides, it's not really a proper game of football, and the latter gameplan is no fun to watch either. I can probably count on one hand the number of genuinely decent games of football I've seen at PR this season. So for me, absolutely loving the direction of travel and the things we can control we are largely doing well. At the same time, the prospect of another season in this awful league is not something I am remotely looking forward to. [Post edited 19 Mar 2023 12:11]

I'm on holiday in Portugal at the moment. A local wine shop has loads of 90s reds. I bought a 1997 Barraida Baga. For £14.20. The Cork crumbled and I filtered it through coffee filter papers, but, blimey it was smooth! £14.20 for a 1997. Incredible.

:) I don't disagree tbh, FGR e.g. was zero jeopardy footie wasn't it, and nice in a way but not why we all love the game. Yesterday was different though, and even Burton were alright I thought. [Post edited 19 Mar 2023 11:51]

Definitely count yesterday as a good one. You could see Shrewsbury had something about them and believed they could get something out of the game and whilst there was some sh!thousing it was relatively tame compared to what we've been used to. Walton actually had to make a few saves as well, which we don't always get to see.

Lovely stuff Town on 12:57 - Mar 19 with 670 views | Funge | Dyllers I am a pessimistic fcker - and there really wasn't much, at all, to whinge about yesterday. Luongo/ Morsy pivot in the middle is ace, Clarke is terrific, and Davis is a good crosser of the ball. These last few games have been excellent; Bolton last week the performance of the season, probably closely followed by yesterday. Continue to play with this confidence, and we really shouldn't drop too many more points, at all.

Lovely stuff Town on 09:56 - Mar 19 by Herbivore | Indeed. Remarkably the ref seemed to miss most of it as well. Thought he made a few 'eccentric' calls yesterday. |
To give him his due, his failure to give Burns anything, set Chaplin away for our 2nd yesterday...
I reckon we'll win every game! on 13:03 - Mar 19 with 657 views | Dyland |

Arf. I'm also a natural pessimist Fungers old bean, but I must say I'm just enjoying watching us at the moment and don't really care where we finish. Weird maybe, but whatever innit bruv :)

Lovely stuff Town on 13:24 - Mar 19 with 644 views | ronnyd | My first visit to PR for around three years and i must say what a difference from the dross i endured on my last visit. The style and play is a joy to watch and the midfield of Morsy and Luongo is immense. Will certainly try to get more visits under my belt. Thanks to all for the great entertainment.

I’m enjoying all aspects of it. I found watching the club drain away under faceless Evans heartbreaking. Stadium getting ever more shabby, floodlight bulbs blown, mouldy roof, stinking toilets, dirty seats, faded signs, shambolic managers, close season promises that meant nothing, panic signings in January, idiotic rumours in August. It was beyond amateurish and stank of a club sliding into oblivion. Dying. The club had lost its identity. It was even losing its presence. Even a couple of decent seasons under Mick had a whiff of defying gravity to them. And while he did well to achieve what he did with zippo, most of the time I didn’t enjoy watching it. All that has gone into reverse. For me ‘the project’ (it’s actually a programme of projects really) is both interesting and crucial. If you have a mess of a club, you’ll usually have a mess of a team and visa versa. Building blocks. We don’t have a mess of a team. We have a structured club with a good side for this level and we will get out of this league. Cotterill is right. It’s little things too like engaging with former players like Friday night, Community Trust, the amazing Jason Schechterle, Chaplin doing his stuff in the community etc. Personally, I’ve not been as interested in ITFC as I am now for years. Really since Burley’s time over 20 years ago. I’m enjoying what we are doing and trying to do.
