It is a criminal offence to enter the pitch which could see both fans involved and the club punished, and it's something the Football League have tightened up in recent years after likes of invasions where a fan punched Jack Grealish for example.
West Ham got fined £100,000 in 2019 for a pitch invasion in their home game against Burnley. |

There will be a wall of 100+ stewards across the lower north, a lot more so than we had against Bolton in the play offs for example. If they can’t get on, no other stand will instigate it. Milling around on the pitch is one of life’s great joys. I hope my kids get to experience it. If that means in this day and age it needs more control, such as waiting for the players to leave first that’s fine by me. Any end of season presentations they’re thinking of can be done in the directors box. |
