Ainsley Maitland-Niles on a free anyone? (n/t) on 12:38 - May 4 by TRUE_BLUE123 | We can do better than a player whose played over 100 prem games, won the FA cup starting in the game. Runner up in the Europa league starting in the game. Lets not get silly now. |
Yup likely way out of our league .

Ainsley Maitland-Niles on a free anyone? (n/t) on 12:10 - May 4 by Churchman | No. We can do better than a player whose career is on the way down. Another whose made his dough and is quite comfortable, I suspect. [Post edited 4 May 2023 12:11]

Jackson, Hirst and Broadhead were "on the way" down with their careers... now after the McKenna touch....

Hirst and Broadhead (3 PL appearances) were and are still trying to make something of their careers. They’re hungry. Jackson is an L1 player. A good character who contributed to this season. Quite how you compare them to Alli, whose career is clearly going down the pan, has done nothing in two or three years now, but still gets paid huge sums of money and £50k a week AML who once played for Arsenal, but this season turned out 20 times in Southampton’s probable relegation is beyond me. Why would they come here for a fraction of the money they’re on? McKenna’s coaching? They learnt the game at Spurs and Arsenal. They’re hardly going to improve at Playford Rd. It’s not just about talent. It’s about desire and attitude. Mason Mount looks to be heading the same was as Alli. Top banana a couple of years ago, £ pile made, looking ever less interested now. Ok, they would fulfil the desire of some to sign ‘big names’, but seriously, you’ve seen the attitude of our players this season. They come across as decent guys pulling in the same direction.no sense of billy big bollx tripping over egos. Every utterance smacks of the team, including Chaplin’s thanks to his team mates on getting his award yesterday. These are the type of players we want. Not some bloke who used to be good or another looking for a payday, retirement fund top up etc.

There's a difference between taking a step back to move forward and on the way down.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

Ainsley Maitland-Niles on a free anyone? (n/t) on 15:28 - May 4 by Cheltenham_Blue | "Chopra used to bang them in for fun in the Championship, but it's madness that we didn't do our due diligence on him as a character before spending all that money on him. His problems weren't exactly hard to sniff out either." Pique Evans and Clegg though wasn't it? |
Why am I getting the blame for Chopra?

I know your post is in jest (Well i think it is) But Jones hasn't completed a training session all season apparently, so i suspect he will be retiring.

I don't see how Mason Mount fits in same category - he's just at a mess of a club and will get a good move in the summer because they need to cash in on youth players for FFP reasons

Ainsley Maitland-Niles specifically is well beyond our current status in the game and will likely find his way back onto the books of a Premier League club (unless he decides to go abroad). In general though, don't think you can write off every player whose career has taken a downturn.
