The vegan bubble has burst. on 11:25 - May 22 by Ryorry | I might get pelters for this, and I know it might sound weird, but Jude's Ice Cream for Dogs, which I used to give my old boy, is entirely vegetarian, and seems to consist of nothing more than fruit, fruit & veg juice, coconut oil and water. It looked and smelled absolutely delicious, and if I weren't allergic to the fruit & beet, I'd have tried it myself! Very expensive though. https://www.ocado.com/products/jude-s-ice-cream-for-dogs-556268011?gclid=CjwKCAj Ingredients: Water, Strawberry Puree (12%), Apple Juice from Concentrate (11%), Banana Puree (11%), Fructose, Coconut Oil, Pea Protein, Emulsifier (Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids), Beetroot Juice Concentrate, Stabilisers (Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum) |
Ice cream for dogs? And it's an expensive product? We've reached a point of decadence in Western culture from which I'm not sure we can recover.

Miserable git. Next you'll be saying they shouldn't even get to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner

Not serving a dog with an alcoholic beverage with his/her meal is verging on animal cruelty surely? My dog usually enjoys a nice can of crucial brew with his evening meal

I've said a few times, we need a global government to save the planet from disastrous climate change, even out the appalling inequalities at least somewhat, and intevene to prevent horrendous & wasteful wars. Will never happen (or maybe only when we've reached catastrophe stage). 'Viewed from space, earth has no national borders' etc. [Post edited 22 May 2023 13:01]

Thank god it will never happen. Far too much power in the hands of the few.

I meant an overarching body equivalent to the WHO or similar, but with authority and power to sanction. Trustworthies voted in - you could have Sir D. Attenborough eg. #WillNeverHappen of course.

Alcopops were all the rage for dogs in the 90's. Few bottles of Lemon Pooch on a Friday night.

"we need a global government" is exactly the kind of talk that puts so many off the environmental movement - and understandably so!

A lot of the world's problems are going to require global solutions and humanity has shown that when you leave national governments to it they aren't very good at cooperating in the best interests of the masses.

The whole pup culture thing in the 90,s seems a tad irresponsible now looking back. I have no problem with pets drinking as long as they do it responsible .

Now Yianni's has closed, I might be able to look a little further down the road and find my way to Roya, I had heard it was good. If anyone ever find themselves in KL, this place had some of the best food I have ever tasted and I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. https://www.happycow.net/reviews/kusa-japanese-vegan-kuala-lumpur-168564 Sensational and cheap too.

Same, I got stopped by the wife loading a little box of dog biscuits up for myself. They looked great.

Give me your alternative then please, because nothing else is working. Remember you need to persuade Russia, a possible Trump in the USA, China, India, & S. American countries.

The interesting thing about not having global governance, is that the world is essentially in a state of anarchy between states. If Anarchism it is a good enough system for nation states, surely….

Yannis is reopening, they've been giving it a facelift and a little snooping suggests the owner has passed it onto his son. Good news for me as it's in walking distance. It is that way and somehow we've managed not to destroy ourselves, yet, despite having that ability since at least the 1960s. The world order has thus far been 'policed' by the more powerful states, and various international agreements but only when it becomes in their interest to do so. International institutions can help, but ultimately it comes down to military or financial sanction to punish non-compliance. Despite this I am more optimistic than most that the looming challenges can and will be met - without a full dive into tyranny.

May I ask what that optimism is based on? All the evidence suggests we're fooked.

Where your definition of Anarchy is provided by the Daily Mail!! This however will never catch on... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarcho-syndicalism#:~:text=Anarcho%2Dsyndicalis "Anarcho-syndicalism is a political philosophy and anarchist school of thought that views revolutionary industrial unionism or syndicalism as a method for workers in capitalist society to gain control of an economy and thus control influence in broader society. The end goal of syndicalism is to abolish the wage system, regarding it as wage slavery. Anarcho-syndicalist theory generally focuses on the labour movement.[1] Reflecting the anarchist philosophy from which it draws its primary inspiration, anarcho-syndicalism is centred on the idea that power corrupts and that any hierarchy that cannot be ethically justified must be dismantled.[2] The basic principles of anarcho-syndicalism are solidarity, direct action (action undertaken without the intervention of third parties such as politicians, bureaucrats and arbitrators), and workers' self-management. Anarcho-syndicalists believe their economic theories constitute a strategy for facilitating proletarian self-activity and creating an alternative cooperative economic system with democratic values and production centred on meeting human needs."

The vegan bubble has burst. on 11:50 - May 22 by Mookamoo | Isn't all dog food passed for human consumption or is that a myth? A tin of pedigree meaty chunks probably has better quality meat in that most own brand tins of meatballs. |
It’s a myth. Some of the good quality stuff is human grade, but a lot of the cheap stuff is full of derivatives and fillers that you really wouldn’t want inside your body - or indeed that of your dog, if you care about them, and want them to live a long and healthy life.
