Not happy about this latest u turn tbh. Johnson dismantling DfID was a shameful, populist and very harmful move. Starmer gave a pledge to bring it back.

Sorry for going all koonters but he’s u turning on just about everything.

Starmer needs to just keep his trap shut on any commitments until the GE, as all that will happen is the right wing gutter press will tot up the cost and run sh*t stories about unfunded spending plans.

Keep his powder dry until this shambles of a govt dies and then come with the manifesto.

FWIW, more pain and bloodletting will only result in stronger pro-EU rejoin sentiment, I firmly believe. From that perspective, this may all prove to be worth it in the longer term.

Quite. And don't give the tories the info enabling them to pull the rug from under Labour's feet or steal their thunder, as they have done today with the release of their plans to reform/build back NHS staffing levels -just 5 weeks after Labour released their own, similar plans.

Thing is, no-one and I mean literally no-one (except perhaps Boris Johnson's mum, if such a creature exists) can any longer believe a single word that comes out of Tory Party HQ, or any of it's filthy, kleptomaniac, scumbag MPs.

I've just been watching The Thick Of It again, and Starmer could really do with a Malcolm Tucker type slyly feeding the Tories tripe to regurgitate and choke on.

almost a direct copy, so in some ways a good thing, but if they meant it they should have enacted it 13 years ago and we might not have got in this mess.

announcing it just before they get voted out is pretty disingenuous

Point of order here, the Libya debacle was David Cameron. Defending Blair's actions in Iraq would certainly be a "warped leftish ideology", it wouldn't be leftish at all. I'd also point out that the Iraq invasion was fully backed by the Conservatives at the time.

'd also point out that the Iraq invasion was fully backed by the Conservatives at the time'.

and the Bush family.

and Blair's close friend Putin.

Blair...Putin's advisor re Chechnya

BBC and The Guardian.....both North Korea of Europe.....they will never say a bad word about Blair..........and he still walks free.

If you think working in a mass media company is a fantasy, you have a very low bar for success and a limited imagination. What do you do for a living? Council leaf blower is my best guess.
