Every time I see him play, I'm very intrigued. I think there could a real player there who's gone entirely under the radar.

He's been on I follow before. Was either pizza games or other cup fixtures.

As said already. Cameos. Haven't said in the hundreds of games I've seem him in.

He played one pizza cup game two years ago. Hell of a shout to say he won't make it based on one appearance when he was 17 or 18.

Carr was highly regarded at Carlisle and we poached him like Premier league clubs have done to our highly talented players in the past. Regards Baggott I have not seen enough to comment/ judge my concern is he has gone into league 1/2 sides and not always been given game time at those clubs . And before age is mentioned I saw top centre halves here at Town make their debuts at young ages at a higher level and you knew they were going to make it.

Baggott made 28 appearances for Gillingham in his half a season there.

Must be a couple gills games thrown in then coz I know I've seen him a few times, as my son knew of him when he came on and we discussed the previous times we'd seen him.

He also came on last night herbz hence the post itself.

He just looks so far off when you compare him as I said to Carr who just looked like a natural player.

Good luck to Baggott. I hope he makes it here, but I just wouldn't want to have to rely on him anytime soon.

It was a preseason friendly where he came on with 10 minutes to go in a back 4 where three of them were kids. Judging him on last night is nonsense, as is the claim you watched him play whilst he was at Gillingham. I don't know why you always feel the need to double down on the daft sh!t you post, but there we go.

No tricks. Just typical twtd where you share a thought that someone doesn't agree with and boom the hounding begins. If anyone's up to their usual tricks its the same posters jumping in.

Not every town player has to be blindly praised Donnie.

It's OK to have a balance Herbz.

If you're going to praise players based on a friendly then its ok to discuss the other side of things.

Again. I hope Baggott becomes something. I'm yet to be convinced. We will see.

No one ever said they have. I've counted about 10 posts from you, each one as negative as the last from a friendly that we won. You've got issues, sort it out.

If you're going to slate a promising young player off the back of a ten minute cameo in a back 4 made up of kids in a preseason friendly and then lie about watching him a number of times previously because even you (hopefully) realise how daft it is to judge someone solely on the basis of ten minutes in a friendly, then naturally people are going to pull you up on it.

I don't believe that's the case. I praised Morsy which was not usual for me. But i really liked him last night. Oozed quality.

But then you did think I was being sarcy about Walton not being on the pitch.. when he wasn't actually on the pitch

I've never seen Baggott play for Town.
But if the club see a player there vs Frimers doesn't see a player there, I know which I'm going with.

You surely saw the Rotherham away game on Sky at back end of 21/22 and the Charlton home game on last day of season when we won 4-0? Baggott started both of them and did very well.

Frimmers has decided he's not good enough now because when he played at CB with renowned CB Lee Evans with Fin Barbrook looking a little lost in front of him he struggled in a 10 minute cameo in a pre season friendly - makes sense really

Indeed. The only time I've seen him play was that Rotherham game as I was away for the Charlton game and I thought he looked good, not remotely out of his depth and comfortable on the ball. I wonder which Gillingham games Frimmers tuned into that have turned him against Baggott? My guess is none and he's just doing his usual tired routine.

Wait: "I praised Morsy which was not usual for me."

I don't want to join the pile on, but, are you talking about Sam Morsy? The Ipswich captain who plays in the same position the likes of Jonathan Douglas and Andre Dozzell have strolled around in recently? The dynamic Sam Morsy who sets the tempo for a team that won 15 out of their last 16 in the League to secure Automatic Promotion?

THAT Morsy?

Or another one?

If it is the same Morsy we are talking about, could you recall even 5 times in 46 games last season when he was caught in possession?

My memory, without checking, is that he always showed for the ball when the defence were under pressure, and frequently shielded the ball from 2 players, sometimes 3, turned with it in tight spaces, and distributed it sensibly.

Maybe he did it so consistently that it just became normal for you, but, believe me, there aren't many Town midfielders of the last 10 years (Championship and League One) who could do that.

Luongo did, too, but we are talking about Morsy.

I thought you were mildly complimentary Frimley! From what I've read you've only said the below about him:

"I'm still surprised Baggott is still a town player
I know he's young... but surely by now he should know the basics.. he's million miles away it seems from regular league football"

"In Baggotts cameos for town.. I just don't see a player there. Its not just his reactions..but he can't pass. Doesn't read balls into him and whenever he's put a town shirt on he's caused havoc."

Perhaps others TWTDers are reading posts unavailable to us?

Not slating him? This was your opening gambit, and as we've since uncovered, your basing this entirely on a 10 minute cameo in a friendly:

After spending the first half of the season at Gillingham he then went to Cheltenham in League One. Had a minor injury and then struggled to break into the starting 11. For a while they were in a relegation battle and I think their manager went for experience.

He played a few games at the tail end of the 2021/22 season when Burgess was suspended and Edmundson was injured.

Looked very raw. Not sure he has progressed much since then.

He played twice. I only saw one of those but he didn't look out of place in that appearance, imo. He did well in his half season at Gillingham.
