About the new season, not generally.
This time last year, I was really nervous, the anticipation was palpable, on here in particular.
I think that was because we HAD to get out of that league and was our best chance since relegation.
This year, I've no idea what's going to happen, except I know that we aren't at risk of relegation, and what will be will be.
However, if you ask me again at 5pm on the 6th, I might say something different. |  |

There is a feeling of coming in under the radar (but that's more of opposition fans as managers in the division will know what we are about).
I think we are a very good team and squad and don't feel worried at all a out the bottom end. Really hard to know how high we can finish but the playoffs seem possible. Competitive division this year.
Last night suggested our style will suit the division and teams won't be sitting off us as we are no longer the big fish in small pond.
We have to be a bit more streetwise at the back but I think we will be top half.

Think the pressure and expectation isn't there. When we get 100 points, 100 goals it'll be an unexpected achievement whereas in League 1 with our squad there was always the prospect of us smashing it. |

I feel we mustn’t get above ourselves and think we’re going to fly through the Championship.
Yes, we’ve a very good squad, yes, we’ve arguably the best young coach outside the Premier League but it’s not going to be a walk in the park.
There are some very good sides already in there and we’ll have to be performing well week in week out to stay competitive.
I’m confident we won’t be struggling, I’m also cautious that it won’t be as easy as some on here think. Finish in the top 10 then reassess and push on for the following season.

Right now, uncertain. I think we will more than hold our own against many of the clubs in the division, but don’t think we’ve done enough in the transfer market to be competing at the top end. I’m quite disappointed with the transfer business so far. |

I do think everybody's getting a little carried away. Just checked Betfair and the market has us as 5th favourites to win the league, which seems mental for a newly promoted side.
Realistically our traditional position of 15th would be a solid return, and then push on from there.

No. We need a number 9, Ladapo isn’t the man for Championship football and I have a lot of questions around Hirst in this league too (despite everyone in here thinking he’s mustard, for me he’s more like marmite, 6 goals in 21 in League 1 isn’t exactly prolific) we need at least 1 more 9 and clearly the gaffer thinks so too, Hirst was always coming, but we failed with Simms, who is on the radar now? I think we also need another CB and another winger (which was meant to be Rak Sakyi) |  |

I won't be fully confident until the Cb situation gets sorted, need to work on defending balls in to the box cause we have looked shaky during Pre season with those. 3/4 yesterday that had us panicking a bit.
But im sure both of those issues will be addressed.

That is one way to look at it, for sure. Still think our squad is short of experience at this level, you need a good mix and what we are relying on currently is a lot of players with the potential to make the step up, but against much better quality players, it might take them a while and there will be set backs in that process. We need an old head (not body) or two, especially so at the back IMO. | |

How do I feel? Deflated that we are probably going to lose Morsy, who i rate highly. Even though Hutchinson is probably a step up from Burns I really like Wes and Hutchinson won't be our player in a year. I feel we are light in central defence but still plenty of time, but make it a perm. Annoyed that I've just had to clear up dog poo scattered in the hall at 4am. | |

I fluctuate 3-4 times a day.
I'm not anticipating relegation, but:
- When I look at the fixture I get very nervous looking at who we have to play and convince my self that we're probably looking at 12th-14th and I would be happy with that.
- Then I look at our results this calendar year, realise we've lost only twice - to Oxford in the fog and away to a Burnley side who romped the Championship last year - and convince myself that we should be looking for Top 10, maybe even scrape into playoffs.
- Then I analyse the results from this calendar year and see that in the 23 league games we played in 2023 we scored 55 and conceded 11 (and only four in our last 16 games) and I convince myself that just as long as we signed Hurst then we should be promoted by March. | | | |
