This time last year, I was really nervous, the anticipation was palpable, on here in particular. I think that was because we HAD to get out of that league and was our best chance since relegation.
This year, I've no idea what's going to happen, except I know that we aren't at risk of relegation, and what will be will be.
However, if you ask me again at 5pm on the 6th, I might say something different.
Expectations will be slightly tempered because of the move up. Im actually more nervous than last season at this stage because we will be coming up against stronger opponents week in week out ans will get punished for mistakes in this division. What I hope for tbh is the quality players that we have will stand out meaning we are close to the promise land. If lots of them struggle to make a difference the time we spend in this division will increase.

So on this basis.... on 18:23 - Jul 20 with 1509 views
In my local school we have dinner ladies. Next time I’m in I’ll ask the head why he’s employing people to work in the evenings.
Given you an uppie, as it made me smile. But it's 'Lunch Break' not 'Dinner Break'. Calling them dinner ladies, is something decided by our overlords at Eton and Oxford.
I think Top half for us maybe even a push for the playoffs. Leics, Leeds and Soton will be really strong but absolutely convinced there are at least 3 teams worse than us

What are you disappointed with exactly?
Who we have signed or the amount? Were you expecting an overhaul? 19 new players?
What is there to be disappointed with?
We've made some very astute signings, again. Add to that we have extended a few important contracts, including the most important one. We've got a few out on loan and our business looks far from done.

He wants the moon on a stick. And he wants it yesterday.
....if you wanted to go out for a meal at a restaurant in the evening, you'd phone them up and say:
"Can I book a table for tea please?"
Nobody past school age calls their evening meal "tea".
The big 3 are breakfast, lunch, dinner.
With honourable mentions for elevenses, brunch, afternoon tea, supper and potentially a midnight snack.
Thank you and end of discussion.
I've changed my eating habits in the last couple of years to just have a light meal in the evening so there is no way I am calling a cheese roll 'dinner', there again I try and eat that between seven and eight which is too late to be calling it 'tea'. So 'supper' it is.
I honestly have no idea how this season will pan out, other than I don't expect us to be in a relegation battle (famous last words!).
Hopeful of at least a top 10 finish at least, but I'm just going to enjoy us not having to play Accrington, Cheltenham, Exeter, Fleetwood, Morecombe, etc, so I'm relaxed about it all.

Heyyy - what second season??!!
The days of not another season in Championship lol. Didn't we have a record some point of how long we in there for. Now instead of going to Accrington, trips to Leicester.

If we want to push on for top 6, then I think we could/should be ruthless with letting 3-4 players go, and replacing those with real quality to help towards that.
Not at all concerned, think we're more than good enough to get ourselves mid table. League looks like it'll be really tough this year, plenty of teams who have the money and squads to do well so it'll tough for us to be a dark horse but you never know.
Anything more than relegation and I'll be happy. Just need continuous improvement really.
This is the first year of a new era. If it turns out we never get promoted and are in for another 16 year stretch of level 2 mediocrity then I don't care. I'll be dead by then anyway.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I’m feeling quite confident regarding the new season. Last season there was the fear of not going up and having another season in L1. And then as a consequence, losing our better players.
The almost childlike enthusiasm for every game, the fact that we’re going to play Norwich without the Marcus Evans factor and that we have a positive manager.
Everything is awesome.

On reflection I think you've grasped the moment. Everything is awesome.
