Glad I didn't pay money to watch them do this. How the tables have turned - boring boring Aussies.

Not sure test cricket is for you. T20 might be more your game.

No breakthrough yet this morning. Very stubborn, obdurate stuff. However, they're not particularly hurting us and are still 200 behind. If we can just nip one or two out.

We've beaten the edge several times, they've definitely had to ride their luck. Nick one out and we might see a flurry of wickets, as happened yesterday, as these aren't easy conditions to bat in as a new batsman.

Good bowling from England, but credit to the Aussies for not losing a wicket during that session, showed good resilience. It’s like some don’t want to give credit for that these days in test cricket, everything has got to be done and dusted in a day.

Ridden their luck?! You make it sound like the ball has gone past the edge every other ball and there’s been plenty of opportunities. There hasn’t. England putting the pressure on via disciplined bowling, but the Aussies are looking quite comfortable.

Thanks for the tip dad.

I'm not a super regular cricket goer, but catch the odd day here or there - just glad today's not one of them.

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

This is what test cricket is about for me. It’s a test of batting technique due to good bowling and the conditions. Personally, I’m glad I’m watching it, this is what makes this form of the game so interesting.

England have had to work so hard for that wicket, been really good all morning. Not quite sure how Khawaja and Labuschagne have survived until then.

Indeed. Beaten the edge by a fraction several times, including off some loose shots. They are pretty fortunate to have only lost one wicket this session. They've barely moved the scoreboard on either.

Very noble - you must have loved Boycott.

This 'Boycs-ball' is but a pale shadow of Geoffrey's.

2 quick wickets after lunch, and suddenly England's approach not looking so bad...

Scorecard looks better now with two wickets since lunch, another quick one and it might be fairly even after one innings.

The advantage of England scoring quickly is shown up a little today by that morning session, although it was still a bit careless at times yesterday.

Any chance of a Guide for non-techies on how to transfer laptop broadcast of game to TV that's 2 rooms & a bit of hallway away please, without trailing cables?

With the way we're bowling, parity or better is certainly possible. Agree with your second paragraph and was the point I was making earlier. In conditions like yesterday and today, you are going to get out at some point and you can either go ultra defensive, stay in for a bit but not really move the game forward, or you can go for your shots and get what runs you can before you get one with your name on it.

There’s different ways of watching test match cricket and that’s what makes it the best format of the game to watch IMO.

Agree Steve, it was careless and it has been careless at times throughout the series. England have been in positions of strength and just completely given the ascendency away at times with their recklessness. That’s when they need to be more measured instead of continually just going for it.

Marsh is the one we want now. He seems to like playing us and is someone who can get the scoreboard moving at a crazy rate, freeing Smith to hold firm.

Since Marsh has come back into the Aussie side, he’s looked really at ease at the crease. Looks in good nick too.

But the way that they have got to those positions is by playing positively. You can't have the benefits of those, and then ask them not to play that way.
