Walton out for 'quite a while' on 15:22 - Aug 4 with 861 views | LankHenners | Not ideal, to say the least. A chance at redemption for Hladky then. McKenna's said how much the GKs have improved working with Gilmartin - let's hope that's true!

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 14:49 - Aug 4 by tractorboy1978 | That's an injury that is a very hard to give any sort of timescale on. |
This page seems to suggest 4-9 weeks (not sure if that's back to full load capability) but with a very good outlook for full healing after rest and physiotherapy. https://james-mccormack.com/advice-centre/plantar-fascia-tear/ Hopefully that might be on the shorter side for Walton with optimal rehab by the club. Looking on the bright side, Hladky is great with is feet, might just be a case of getting a good confidence boosting start, and proving a able deputy for a couple of months.

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 15:15 - Aug 4 by ElderGrizzly | Which would likely mean removing Walton from the 25 until January. I don't think we want to use 4 keeper spots for our squad? |
If we bring in a new keeper we'll sell or loan out Hladky. Slicker has been signed as a number three, so will become our reserve keeper behind whoever whilst Walton is out.

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 15:21 - Aug 4 by Zapers | I don't understand why you have to be a footballer to have a steroid injection. I had this injury in Spain, it was really painful, especially first thing in the morning. I was limping around like a three legged horse. After a few months of pain, I decided enough was enough. I visited a private specialist, and she administered a painless injection in my heel. She warned me it might take more than one injection. I still suffered so a few weeks later, i had another steroid. I think you can have a maximum of three per year. Anyway it worked, and after a few more weeks I was pretty much ok. It can take time |

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 14:50 - Aug 4 by ITFCBlues | Think we may need another keeper. Not sure we can go with Hladky for any length of time. |
I think he might surprise a few of us. That dodgy start to the season was a few years ago now and he’ll have matured and grown 8n to being an Ipswich player. His confidence will be higher and he’s got better coaches around him now. He’ll be fine.

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 16:17 - Aug 4 with 624 views | wischip | Last year, a colleague at work had a plantar fascia. He didn't come in for a week. We all called him a facist. He was back at work the following week and hobbled a bit but was back to normal the week after. Mind you he doesn't exert himself like a goalkeeper. [Post edited 4 Aug 2023 16:21]

Ah, just read his is a tear, so different from what I had, and I assume yourself. The lenghty lay off makes more sense now.

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 15:21 - Aug 4 by ElderGrizzly | Ah ok. Or even another spot on a keeper means one fewer for the outfield. Gamble time? |
The knock-on impact might be that we then keep Baggott and Humphrey's to beef up the numbers with 'freebies' to the 25.

Walton out for 'quite a while' on 16:57 - Aug 4 with 470 views | LegendofthePhoenix | For those of you with a Town TV subscription, have you watched the "Keepers in Focus" film? It's brilliant. You get to see just how intense the training is with Rene Gilmartin and the competition between the keepers for being fastest, it was held in the heat in Austria, so we have some very fit keepers. I have to say they all looked good, Hladlky certainly looks very capable. I guess we have to trust that Kieran and Rene know just how bad Walton's injury is, and how ready Hladky and especially Slicker would be. It could be that we want a backup /competition to Hladky now if Slicker is not ready to be our 2nd choice for a few months. Hladky deserves his chance, but if he does have wobbles, we need a decent backup.
