Hutchinson Yesterday 15:10 - Aug 7 with 10466 views | Kentish_Tractor | What did you think of Hutchinson when he came on yesterday? Will probably get several negative votes for this but just stating my own honest opinion here. It might just be me - but to me he looked a little nonchalant / dissinterested, and I was expecting better if i'm completely honest. Either that or he was a little bit lost out there. Showed a couple of good touches but didn't pass when he should have and wasn't as committed to running back. He currently has the lowest player rating from our team at time of writing. I know he's young but he didn't look like he had that fire in his belly that some kids have. Now I don't know it's thats just because of the occasion, his natural playing style or just his newness to the team - I know we play a very intense game that he he is probably not used to. I need to state I'm not writing him off - it would be stupid to write off a 19 year old after 20 minutes of his senior debut at a new team. All I'm saying is I was a little disappointed with him yesterday. I hope he gets better as he gets used to us and how we play. What did you all think?

Hutchinson Yesterday on 19:55 - Aug 7 with 1051 views | Mullet | I'm a bit baffled by your criteria to decide he was "nonchalant" etc. Especially as you immediately suggest he might have been lost. Thought he carried the ball well, came into a very tough situation at senior level and did well in some moves and wasn't quite switched on in others. I agree he should get better, but I wasn't expecting fireworks necessarily either.

Hutchinson Yesterday on 20:00 - Aug 7 with 1045 views | JDB23 | Not sure the game was right for him to be brought on. At the time the sub was made it was understandable, 2-0 up and in control and they just went down to 10 men, McKenna probably thought it was a good time to give him some minutes and try to kill the game off. I think had he known we’d spend the next 25 mins backs to wall defending he’d have probably gone for more experienced heads. A few times now he’s made wrong decisions in promising areas which you’d expect from a player in his position, I’m sure that will get better the more he plays though. Too early to really give any judgement on him yet.

Hutchinson Yesterday on 19:49 - Aug 7 by ChampionsofInnsbruck | Give it two months and lets see. People crpped all over George Hirst to begin with as well and he was a key part in getting us out of that dire league. |
Davis had a very ordinary debut too didn't he? Am I imagining that at least one of Broadhead or Clarke did as well?

Hutchinson is on his first loan from Chelsea who signed him from arsenal We loaned hirst after a failed spell on loan at Blackburn. Massive difference.

Why are people bemoaning peoples thoughts on a player following a game where the OP asked for personal opinions from that game. Not what they think the player will look like next week next month next year. Its in the OP.

Of course but you clicked on it. Read the OP and you're what shocked that people are responding to it? Surely if you only wanted views after a month or two you'd have left the thread alone and ignored it. It's all rather odd. It literally asks for thoughts following his appearance yesterday.

I didn't say you had. Your input along with the other poster was about debuts and look at them now kinda thing. ( the other guy.. let's see where they are in 2 months) for example. That's great and all that and spot on. But the OP didn't ask about what people think he will be in 2 months. [Post edited 7 Aug 2023 20:13]

I'm saying a) silly to compare Hutchinson with Humphreys re loan vs own, and b) it's too early to pass any judgement anyway. Whilst agreeing with others that it wasn't a great opp to bring him on yesterday, imo. "Read the OP and you're what shocked that people are responding to it?" Weasel words, straw man, etc. And yes, very odd indeed.

It's enervating innit on 19:51 - Aug 7 by Nutkins_Return | Frimbot!! Sooo good.😂😂 I have this image now of Frimbot being unleashed on the frontline. Saunters into trench and just starts talking football anti-logic with troops scrambling to escape the madness of it. |
In my imagination the Frimbot has no physical form. It’s more like a computer virus. It was the year 2000 bug, it rigged the US and UK elections, was responsible for Brexit and confused the crap out of Putin and resulted in a special military operation. And now it has turned its attention on TWTD. We’re doomed.

Just personal views. I like humphreys I think hes shown he can hold his own and imo he could be developed into a star. He's shown great ball control. Great attributes on the ball. Weight of pass etc and hasn't been afraid of being direct and getting forwards. He's got good feet, ability to make himself space and has worked well with those around him. I think he's a great player. I originally thought the loan of hutchinson was instead of the Palace fella and he'd be competing with Burns. If that's the case great but at the moment he's been playing the more central final third role which imo Humphreys could be utilised in. He's scored for us. He's assisted for us and is ready imo for a push. I'm unsure now where Is the pathway for humphreys? Morsy. Ball. Luongo. Evans. Aluko. Hutchinson. Burns. Broadhead. Chaplin. Edwards. Jackson. Harness. Again as per my original response I think huchinson will go on to be a star.. but why aren't we developing our own star when the opportunity is there to do so. At the moment purely to answer the OPs question based on his appearences so far... I'd have been happy to see humphreys.

Looks to have a chance innit. Surprised he's not on a season long loan in L1 tbh.

Humphreys is competing with Morsy, Luongo, Evans, Taylor and Ball. ‘Hutch’ is competing with Burns, Chaplin, Broadhead, Jackson, Harness, Edwards and Aluko. They are very different players in my opinion.

It's a shame. As I still don't see Humphreys as a cm. He offers so much more when higher up the pitch.

I genuinely don’t think you do, it’s written all over your posts where you constantly move the point of discussion and ignore the points others make (eg. in the response to Dyllers and his point about the Hutchinson/Humphreys comparison). I’m not going to get evangelical about this…just my opinion, oh do more pitch stuff. I like pitch stuff.

Thank goodness you're not on our coaching staff then. They've seen Humphrey's day in day out for over a year now and have chosen to bring Hutchinson in for a reason. Hutchinson hasn't had his breakthrough game yet, but we've already seen his first touch is a joke and he carries the ball with ease. Just enjoy the ride and enjoy it whilst we've got him.

Took Hirst a few games to get up to speed. He was starting mid-season off the back of not much football though. Hutch just looks raw to me from the very little I’ve seen. You’d expect that, so no problem.
