i'm not sure how my comment is "bogged down in culture wars"? very strange.
i think there needs to be a new internet law to match godwin's law - the first person to use the phase 'culture war' is always the person fighting the 'culture war'.
is she actually arguing for a 'ban' on gender-neutral toilets? i thought she was saying that new public buildings needed to include sex segregated toilets as well as anything else they may provide - a positive duty to include rather than any ban. the examples you give of single cubicles seem entirely right as they are and I'm sure she's not proposing to change trains etc. |

I took from your comment that you objected to "they" from a grammar-type point of view, which is fair enough.
Anyway, the football section isn't the area for this type of debate, so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the practice in relation to legislation which I thought was informative, but it wasn't me that started the comments on this thread about the use of "they". [Post edited 13 Aug 2023 18:39]

I’ve been obsessing recently over learnt and learned, dreamt and dreamed.
I always used a t version but I now understand that both are correct. Not sure how that can be the case. Wonder if ed is more modern or maybe American. |  |

We exchanged some friendly PMs last summer, he said he was OK & had moved 7 months previously to a house with a larger plot for veg growing.
Then same again a few months later in Dec. '22. He wasn't happy with certain aspects of the forum, incl. a couple of people posting on it.
Greatly miss him, he was a top poster. I do hope he's well and enjoying his new garden 👍 |

Phil & Gav have said in the past they regret more females don't use the site, would like to see that change to be more inclusive, and to their credit have done good work in moderating the content to help achieve it.
But there's a reason most females still won't reveal their gender on here.
