Budgies getting into a right flap on wrath 18:54 - Aug 19 with 4020 viewsquirkie

Think reality is setting in for them and their brief period of superiority which just resulted them in being an embarrassing yo-yo club is sinking in.

"They are just a league one side who'll drop down the league when they start playing decent sides" or "McKenna will be off to the 1st Premier League side if they keep winning"

We haven't played anyone yet apparently (other than one team who finished in the play-offs last year and one team above them this)

Haven't signed anybody (which surely makes 3/3 even more impressive)

League One backline (1 goal conceded)

And several others but that throwback to 1998 website gives me a migraine so had to leave.

Did they forget Sunderland finished right above them in the play offs last season or that they narrowly scrapped a win against QPR

At least. It’s been a depressingly long time. Hopefully the tide is turning, but there’s a way to go yet.

Is it as long as that, more like a decade?

No, they still finished below us under Mick when we weren't particularly good.

They gambled on being a yo-yo team and I hope we cut their string this season. Then their ground burns down again without the insurance being strong armed and they go down to League 2 and get bought by some crypto bros and end up in the National League talking about Jeremy Goss like he was some sort of Welsh Jesus.

And we win in Europe again. Just cos that's what we do.

You have made a great start, of that there is no doubt. Tomorrow will be my first live sight of the Yellows this season so will be able to judge the progress seen in first two games. Looking forward to December 17 already!

As i've been telling my mate for ages, their dominance came from Evans tying a hand behind our back.

Now it's a level playing field.

Truly impaired.

We finished above them (just) in 2017-18, albeit still couldn't beat them head-to-head.

They made the Championship Playoffs in 01/02 and have won a ton of promotions and league titles since, so I’d say well over 20 years they’ve been superior to us. Credit where credits due, they’ve been a well run club and will be up there this season.

They made a poster cos they equalised. I think by their metric finishing above them is definitive innit

But had we not gone into administration and effectively imploded as a club, do you think they would have had this spell of “superiority”? It’s taken Town nearly 20 years to recover from that administration and in that time scumville have won what, exactly? Even smaller clubs like Brentford, Fulham, Swansea fairer better when they were promoted to the PL. Scumville rarely muster a showing above 4th from bottom. Their “ superiority” is more a reflection of the outfall from administration of their fiercest rivals, than them making any significant “progress”. They’ve had close to a £bn going into their coffers over the last 15 years and all they have to show for it is “ a nice training ground”…

Evans tied both hands behind our backs and hobbled us as well!

Fourteen wasted years fortunately now behind us.

And they got relegated to League One in 2009, so any superiority isn't longer than 13 years.

They definitely have their fair share of deluded fans. several alluded to the possibility that if we didn't beat QPR, we had no chance in the league!

Short memories, I recollect they finally beat QPR at narrow road with the last kick of the game;)
