I'd imagine with the extra commercial revenue and money for being a Champ club, we'd have the wriggle room to make it work. We've been sniffing around Adam Armstrong ALL summer and he would cost more than £7m, that's for certain. | | | |

Have we been 'sniffing'... have we though?
We won't spend £7m on one player until we are getting sales of £15m in for the likes of Leif Davis. Not because we can't afford it, we can. But because we cannot do it within FFP limitations.
If we lost 14m last year then you can assume we'll have lost a little more this year too. I'd argue the extra tv & revenue has allowed us to operate without problem at our current level e.g 1-2m players.

Chelsea are only doing that with already world-class players worth in the tens of millions and who are going to hold a lot of that value in any circumstances short of a career-limiting injury*. Not ordinary, but overpriced Championship footballers.
