Head injury to Hull no.2 09:23 - Oct 4 with 4373 viewsblue_curacao

What exactly happened and how did he manage to get such a serious head injury from dragging Wolfy to the ground?

I don't think it was a serious injury so much as a bloodied nose. They didn't seem overly concerned, but he must've fallen awkwardly with Woolf on top of him. Might be a lesson to not drag your opponent down in the box as from where I was sat he was all over him on corners.

I did wonder if Woolfie accidentally caught him trying to get up and actually broke his nose , coz the treatment to the player seemed to focus on his nose.

I think Woolfy may have caught him with his elbow or shoulder as they landed. Woolfy was trying to free himself and was pulled down and off-balance.

The medical team spent ages on his nose (Bleed? Break?) before doing a concussion check.

He reacted really bizarrely, banging the ground repeatedly in what almost looked like it was compulsive or out of his control, then kind of collapsed.

Looked more like frustration to me (like he knew he'd done something).

Definitely looked a bit wobbly though.

Thanks, I couldn't really see what he'd done. Glad it wasn't serious. And, yes, some might say serves him right for dragging his opponent down. I noticed that he had the clear headedness to crawl back on to the pitch to receive treatment and disrupt the flow of the game!

He already broke his nose a couple of weeks ago and suffered concussion from it.

Ouch.

Still a wänker though.

Bloke was just coming back from a broken nose, thus perhaps more easily re-injured in the tussle.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

It looked like a penalty from my angle - he pushed into Woolfenden pushing him over and landing on him, must have bashed his nose on Woolfy's shoulder or something though

The ref had a good view - really don't understand why he didn't award a penalty

My nephew is a Hull fan and reckons he had concussion the week before. Possible that was part of his actions and/or the long checks by the medical team.

Did look very much like a teddy out the pram moment to our uninformed eyes though.

Fractured eye socket - ouch.

Hull fans questioned why the Town fans booed him. Probably because he left the field of play under his own steam, then went back on the pitch to be treated. He could have easily stayed off, and the game continued.

But would we expect a Town player to do the same thing, to reduce the period of time being played with ten men? Of course. Football fans can be very hypocritical.

Hope the eye heals soon.

I wouldn’t be the first to suggest concussion protocols to include temporary subs.

It was a combination of him crawling back on the pitch and the fact he'd hurt himself fouling Woolf that grated with the fans.

A foul which wasn’t given. Though that would have been adding insult to injury for Coyle.

Yes, there was a replay from a few angles on TownTV. As they fell he had his arms wrapped around Wolfie and hit face down into Wolfie's shoulder. Then Wolf added a bit of an elbow while getting up, but seemed the majority of injury was from the first hit as they fell to the ground. It did look like a penalty though. The ref did not cover himself with glory as he missed one for them and two for us during the game.

I thought might have been an arm from Woolfy on the replays, but looking now that's well after the initial contact. I think he's probaby fallen face first into the back of Luke's head, given the damage.

Cam Burgess got his face smashed into a million pieces and he wanted to play on. The Hull player is clearly a soft lad.
