I’m already fed up of hearing about them and Wayne Rooney

“Oh and of course they have new owners with a lot of money to spend “

Does FFP not apply to them now they’re “famous” ?

Let them have the limelight, for what it’s worth I think it will end in tears …..quietly going about our business ……In McKenna we trust .

I don’t really mind, we do our talking on pitch.

Feel for Eustace though getting the boot when 6th in the table, awful ownership. Rooney’s another fraud of a manager he won’t do much there.

Haven’t paid much attention to it tbh. It reminds me of kicking out Magilton for big name Roy Keane. I’m not convinced it’s going to end any better either.

The more attention they attract the better. Leaves us alone to do what we are doing.

Never liked Birmingham City much. Awful ground (it was once nicknamed ‘the graveyard’ for good reason) followed by the highest percentage of idiots in Birmingham.

Seems there are mixed feelings for Eustace. Few fans I've seen have spoken about him similar to McCarthy in that he's done a good job but the football is bad to watch and they don't think their current position is reflecting what they are seeing.

Why you'd go from Eustace to Rooney is another story of course.

Exactly. If it stops people from talking about KM for a while, then all the better. Of course, when we win against Rotherham, the talk will be back on us.

Watching one of the news channels.

' Rooney in his first press conference says premiership is the target... as the leading piece to their story.

Well not sht that's the target.

I didn't follow that closely but I thought he did a reasonable job at Derby in very trying conditions?
Seems happy to try and get decent staff in too rather than just rely on his own superpowers unlike a few others of his generation.

I thought he may well do a decent job there, but I'm often wrong.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

TBF, once you've heard KM speaking, the way he does.. There are a lot of managers that come across as low IQ, in comparison.

There seems to be a strange parallel to when Roy Keane became Town manager. It turned into a bloody circus overnight. All about RK and no longer Ipswich Town FC. I can see WR and Brum going the same way, although I’d suggest WR is a better manager than RK ever was.

I'm actually quite pleased at the timing of this. A lot of what we and McKenna have been doing has really made people sit up and take notice. Lots of praise from most and some resentment in other quarters.

The BCFC circus can now take centre stage in the media and we can quietly get the job done on the pitch.

Roy had at least got getting a team out of the championship on his CV, which was a plus point at the time.

Rooney gets this job because...who knows, maybe he'll surprise us...at least Birmingham fans can revel in the fact it could be worse, they could support Reading right now.

I have no hate for Rooney, but it's minimum play offs for BC this season now simply because of where they are in the league right now, huge pressure for a mid table squad..

Rooney got Derby out of the Championship as well, don’t forget.
TBF though I think the general view of Derby fans was he did a decent job there, stuck around when he could have baled out to protect his image etc. But ultimately too chaotic a set of circumstances to work out whether he was a good manager or not.
I wish him well. A lot of the grief he gets is class snobbery IMHO.

Seem to recall them sacking Rowett when in and around the play offs to bring in ‘big name’ Zola. And that went terribly.

Expect exactly the same now.

I sometimes debate if I hold Birmingham lower than Reading and Derby in my hatred. Birmingham need to get relegated and hopefully this is the year now after that appointment.

Would be the Scummy Brummy for me, always hated them since the 2000 League Semifinal, their fans were absolutely filth, I can remember them jumping at our OAP ITFC fans on coaches on arrival and lined the roads outside after they beat us 4-1 (5-2 agg), couple of hundred at least with small kids teaching them the finger and hate chants - real classy way to celebrate an undeserved win.
I swear they dug their pitch up before we arrived - it was like a ploughed field stopped our sweet passing game and their first goal bounced up off a divot and over Richard Wright as he came out to collect it.
