'‘Disgrace’: UK MP slams possible use of British weapons in Gaza A Labour Party candidate in the UK’s upcoming general election has condemned the potential use of British-made weapons in war crimes in Gaza after an Israeli air strike on a UN-run school killed dozens of people.
“It is a disgrace that British-made weapons could be being used to commit crimes like this,” Zarah Sultana, who is running to retain her seat of Coventry South on July 4, said in a post on X.'

Wow, 15000+ children killed. They must be so proud of their new record.
Oh well....
The EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, called it a “massacre”, while the UN’s aid chief described in graphic detail scenes of “shredded bodies on the ground”.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

Good. And it's not like any have been released during ceasefires or anything so probably a price worth paying.
I assume that you are blissfully ignorant that Hamas have been murdering hostages over the past few weeks. I also assume that you are blissfully ignorant that Hamas have rejected the ceasefire that Biden announced recently.
Are you seriously suggesting that the IDF should not be rescuing hostages who have been kept in captivity for 8 months when their whereabouts are discovered?

Yeah, at least they got some hostages back. By the way, those hostages looked very healthy today.
What an absolutely disgusting comment.
edit. FYI it wasn't me who reported your post as abuse. Just like the last disgusting comment you made about the murder of Jews which was reported and deleted, I'd rather it was left up for people to see you for who you are.

CEASEFIRE NOW - OVER TO YOU HAMAS!!
FREE PALESTINE - FROM HAMAS!!!
[Post edited 9 Jun 2024 18:35]
I am certainly suggesting that at this cost.
Edit...when I last looked Netanyahu wasn't even backing the alleged Israeli plan.
Edit 2..a quick search suggests Hamas want the ceasefire to be permanent which seems fair. An end to the war and release of all hostages, seems a no brainer.

Presumably he meant well fed considering the lack of food for many Gazans.

What is your verified source for these murder claims as that has definitely passed me by?

The implication they’ve been well looked after is not only delusional but completely wrong. I’ll paste the UN report since you didn’t read it:-
The UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict reported “clear and convincing information” of rape and sexualized torture being committed
“Following a 17-day visit to Israel, the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict reported on Monday that she and a team of experts had found “clear and convincing information” of rape and sexualized torture being committed against hostages seized during the 7 October terror attacks.
Pramila Patten added in a press release issued along with the report that there are also reasonable grounds to believe that such violence, which includes other “cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment”, may be continuing against those still being held by Hamas and other extremists in the Gaza Strip.”

You may note that my comment was purely in relation to food/nourishment.

Surely being well fed is kind of a moot point if you’ve been subject to physical and mental torture.
“They were sexually abused, but please note that Hamas gave them lots of snacks”
And the ‘but Israel’ response is just childish, it’s possible to have sympathy for more than one group of people. The plight of civilians in Gaza is appalling, whatever happened to two wrongs don’t make a right. These Israeli’s are human beings too. Not soldiers or politicians, but people going about their business who were snatched and subjected to appalling abuse, not to mention the mental scars of what they saw on 7th October.
The first response of ‘they look well fed’ was callous, and made to downplay how dehumanising Hamas actually are. They are a group who willingly use their own civilians as human shields, and murder ‘political dissidents’ in Gaza. Some people are so embedded in their hatred of Israel they can’t even empathise with these poor hostages.

As somebody recently complained, we have normalised horror.

Nope you and GB are just applying an interpretation on to a statement due to your perception of the person that made it. For GB to have framed that supposed quote in the way he has would merit an abuse report if someone was so inclined. Not sure why you have stated the obvious in the but Israel bit either...it is however a matter of real shame that the Israeli State has responded in exactly the way least likely to secure those hostages safe release. Some of us made this point from day one while others were more concerned to back team Israel in its misguided actions.
I have seen no evidence on here of anybody lacking empathy with the plight of hostages.

Have to wonder how they weren’t starved though - not necessarily from the maliciousness of Hamas but the current situation in Gaza in terms of aid.
Not a surprise, but unfortunately strengthens the hold of the far right over Netanyahu.

Sadly their relatively healthy looks indicate that they were kept in better condition than local people as they were valuable for trading against any prisoners that HAMAS were able to get the Israeli forces to release (although I have not noticed any of these exchanges for a while now.)
