Bloody hell, mate. I didn't need to know that. FA Cup win feels like ancient history to me, whereas I can vividly remember hugging random strangers when Stewart made it 3-1. [Post edited 29 Nov 2023 16:53]

What you are saying is that we are due some modicum of success, then.

FA Cup win or promotion this season, which would you go for? Daft as this wild have sounded in 1978, I'd have to favour promotion.

I’d go FA Cup. Promotion and you have 50/50 chance of relegation and all the sh1t that goes with it. FA Cup is on your record forever.

I would choose the FA Cup. However, promotion is far more realistic. Being back in Europe would be nice.

Just think the impact on us as a club of going up would be much more significant than winning the FA Cup. If we were, say, Norwich and had never tasted FA Cup glory (and weren't likely to get promoted either) I'd maybe feel differently though.

The way the club is being run, promotion in the next few seasons seems inevitable, though. FA Cup success is not.

You've gone and done it now. If there was ever a comment likely to appeal to the footballing gods' sense of impishness...

Minor driving move - guy pulls right in front of me and I think it's road rage time. He proceeds to tell me off and I ask him'what are you a policeman? ' to which he says yeah. Arf. Whipper snapper scroat.

Does being admonished by a "steward" who is young enough to be my grandson count?
