We could do with him now. I hadn’t thought about it before, but that’s one area we became weaker in over the summer.

Oh I agree with that but he got sick and think had an injury as well. I just meant we didn't get weaker in that area in the summer.

We can only have 25 in squad so something had to give.

Hindsight is 20/20 or whatever, but we made a mistake in not securing a left-footed understudy to Davis before the window ended. Agreed Williams is a better player than Leigh, but I'm not sure he is a better player for us than Leigh. They need to be left footed to stretch teams to the degree we need IMO.

Either way, if Williams couldn't be used today then I'm not really sure he's even being considered for that position. Regardless of his performance v QPR, he is much more suited to the Davis role than Clarke if we absolutely must use a right footer.
