Considering we've let a left back in Leigh leave, and another who can play in that position has gone back to Man United, with the only natural cover for Davis is a midfielder.

Explain how is this a bad thing.

I've also wondered... if we did get someone who can solidly do the role. Could we see on occasions Davis playing the Burns role but on the left, but with Burns dropping into the Clarke role and us having the option of the two different set ups to choose from..

Davis does effectively play the Burns role already, just combined with some of Clarke's role as well. I don't see much value in playing someone in behind him and pushing him further up. Our system works brilliantly, I don't get why so many fans are keen to tinker with it.
