When does ramadan end? 22:02 - Apr 9 with 2850 views | RobTheMonk | Seems to say either tonight or tomorrow - I'm not sure. Thinking of the later evening kickoff for Morsy and Al-Hamadi. Didn't the EFL put breaks in play in place for fasting players previously? [Post edited 10 Apr 2024 9:28]

It's always reliant on when the moon is sighted so never guaranteed, but based on Sam's tweet it is tonight! Hope he enjoys himself ready for tomorrow.

Shouldn't massively change anything too quickly, just gradually (as I'm sure he knows).

It’s not as if they fast 100% forever. It’s only daylight hours, you can have a bloody great feast after that. Most Muzzies I know eat anyway while their wives huddle in a separate room.

Performing elite level sport, almost always for 90 minutes in Sam's case, without any food or drink for the proceeding 6+ hours and during a high intensity game is pretty impressive. Honestly I reckon the dehydration is a bigger concern for a sportsperson than the eating.

It's the no water which sounds horrible. The second it got light I would be wanting water knowing I can't have it. To continue to play football is ridiculous. Massive respect to all who do it.

I have smoked all my life and gave up on Jan 3rd this year, you can do it too baby. As for Ramadam, I find the whole thing plain daft to be honest. I am from a Catholic family and I thought Lent was stupid enough. Isn't there some kind of exemption on the water front for sportsmen? If not can't the administer intravenous fluids?

I’d struggle with the “No Fentanyl” rule. (n/t) on 09:19 - Apr 10 with 1709 views | Bloots |

My wife actually works with an Imam and she'd asked him about exemptions, etc... His guidance was that it's a personal thing. Sometimes for health reasons you cannot fast, such as when ill or pregnant and he advised that it is completely fine to break a fast in this situation, as it would be if you were severely dehydrated to drink water. His guidance was along the lines of 'Allah does not want you to come to harm'. Some people will make up any days of fasting they miss during ramadan because of illness or when they have had to break a fast. In the end, you know your body and you know what you can do. As for exemption, this imam is very laid back and he basically said that you know your body and what you can do. Similarly you know if you are being deceitful in giving yourself an exemption you don't need. Ps. This is just one Imam, I'm certain that others would have different opinions or disagreements.

In was speaking with a customer the other day and he was asking if we could extend our "March Madness" sale until he gets better as he has the lurgi. I happened to suggest he was feeling ill because he had neglected his body due to religious madness but he wouldn't have it.
