What do we do if we don't make it automatically? Push the debate back for the play off home leg?

If we go up, bloody well go for it. Last season it would have been a bit tin pot but getting to the Prem? If it happens, people deserve to go fooking nuts. The club would probably love the Town TV footage of that moment.

We'll be disappointed to have missed promotion so can't see anyone wanting to celebrate making the playoffs. If it was a case of making Wembley - would expect some will want to celebrate that, just like we did when beating Bolton back in the day.

Even if there is a pitch invasion so long as Town plan for it and carry out all the necessary actions there should be no comeback. Wednesday got charged last year after their play-off win and were fined £50K. Essentially that fine was because they thought they were out of it. They rated the risk of pitch invasion as low, because they were 4-0 down from the first leg and expected to have lost and the fans to saunter off home. Of course what happened was it went to a penalty shoot out, the stewards watched that instead of the the fans, when Wednesday won they made no attempt to stop the fans getting on the pitch, a lino got knocked over, there was no attempt to escort the officials safely off the pitch and piros were lit, and there was no anouncement to get off the pitch for some time. Whatever the situation is on the last day, I think Town will be planning for an invasion, and so long as they follow it through, that will be anough to not get sanctioned. Basically, get the officials off safely, tell people to get off the pitch, make an attempt (though futile) to stop them getting on in the first place and it will all be fine.

Huge risk. If that route is blocked, you’re outside Portman Road with no way back in and miss the moment of a lifetime.

Won’t be, they’ll have to open the doors for anyone that wants to leave. Yes, I know.

Some youngsters from the upper tier were trying that after Exeter last season but there were stewards stationed at the entrance to every lower tier block to stop them. I went to the toilet at that time and had to push past them all and show my ticket to get back in. [Post edited 16 Apr 13:08]

Also worth noting that the safety plan referenced the opposition as Derby County, and had the date as a Sunday 12:30 kick off (a date they didn't play Derby). They basically cut and paste a few documents together and called it a job done.

Ha! I did think of that one. Some pics/gifs work and some don’t, for some reason. You want to copy on a phone or copy image address on a compooter. When you paste it in a post, as long as the link starts with https and ends with .gif or .jpg, etc., it should show up. Your. Also, if it’s massive long link over several lines not ending in .gif/.jpg it doesn’t work. Techie types will know what’s what, but I just use trial and error until I find one that works.

The play off tradition is that there is a pitch invasion if the home team progresses to Wembley.

Exactly. Always been thus, though am sure some won't be able to cope with the sight of fans overcome with emotion much like last year.

Not going to happen. If it happens, the pitch will be full this year. And if it does, once we are on the pitch, we could just all turn, face the stands, and start booing, that would confuse the issue.

Sadly, Portman road is actually very badly designed for a mass pitch invasion. The vast majority of seats are not in lower tiers (upper tiers of all four stands hold far more people than lower), so no matter how many people go for it it is likely to still look quite tinpot. Don’t get me wrong though, I will be the first on the pitch form SBR lower if we go up!!!
