Kieran's agent is very good at his job ain't he 20:03 - May 18 with 3413 viewsReus30

Nothing more to add really. I don't think he'll leave even if United came calling.

And I also hope he enjoys his holiday this week, well earned

Do you think his agent is ‘drumming up interest’ to get a new bumper deal here?

I’d like to think his agent doesn’t need to do that for that to happen but there we go.

To be honest, I reckon a lot of this is just journos putting 2+2 together and getting roughly 4.5.

It's an educated guess really isn't it, as a premier league club without a manager this summer why wouldn't you be looking at a 38 year old manager who's just earned back to back promotions?

Deep down I think we all know KM will want to stay and continue the project, but as others have said, theres nothing we can do if he wants a fresh challenge.

Time will tell. As Mark Ashton said in the interview in the week, trust the club and don't believe everything you read...

Its also click bait season, we're now seeing what its like in the premier league circus. Journos and content sites have to get their traffic and stories like this are what they thrive on.

He is never going to Chelsea, ManU would never hire someone just out of the champ and I don't think he will go to Brighton.

Silly season.

His agent is definitely drumming up interest, Man U aren't going to appoint him as a start and he did pretty well to be sitting between his agent and Gareth Southgate at Villa Park on Monday

It is what it is, everyone has to look after themselves and his representatives will be doing what he wants them to do in conjunction with him - but the only PL job I'm fearful of this summer is Brighton

Oh come on. The guardian isn’t in the habit of just making up stories.

I wouldn’t be be at all surprised if they are all true, and his agents have been sounded out by each of Palace (last season), ManU, Chelsea and Brighton and this has been leaked by his agents. Just possibly it is briefed by the clubs to see how it would go down with the fans, but it has come from somewhere.

Well yeah I mean we have seen a fair share of young managers over the years rising through but almost none have been linked with massive jobs without PL exp.

Kompany wasn't linked with a Chelsea or Man U. Potter had to work his butt off at Brighton for a chance. Rodgers had to do well with Swansea in the Prem before his big shot too.

It seems very strange to me, that he is being linked with two jobs that aren't even vacant. There could be a kind of click bait to it, but surely that would involve bigger names than Kieran? I would have though that his star is not as big nationally as it is in Suffolk so it seems like an agent push for a bumper deal.

Kompany was linked to Chelsea last year in fairness

He is better than all of those managers you have just mentioned though.

Just think of the clamour at the start of next season.

There is a possible scenario that we'll play teams that have changed managers - Liverpool, Brighton, Man U - and they had a p*ss-poor pre-season and there's Gary Lineker on a Saturday night saying "Let's look at the table. The big boys play tomorrow but there's Ipswich sitting in First place".

Bring it on.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Whats the point though?

2 promotions back to back. Only lost 14 games across 2 seasons.. it's a bit obvious clubs might look at him.. why the need to create links for a new deal which probably is already one of the first things Ashton wants to get done.

a niche perspective

But don’t names appear on a bookies list purely because someone’s put some money on it? If I put £1000 on myself becoming Utd manager, I’d appear as a candidate, wouldn’t I?
What’s Kieran or his agent got to do with it, you can’t help people speculating. Additionally, what’s the benefit of Kieran/his agent creating uncertainty? He doesn’t seem to be itching for a move so is the motivation just to get more money from us? I can’t believe that, he is by all accounts a man of high integrity and he was surely already on a good Prem wage in the Championship with us.
I might yet look foolish but I think he’s here for a while yet - the club and Kieran fit each other perfectly.

I don't doubt that there's interest in him, he must be one of the hottest properties in the game right now. I doubt a Chelsea or a Man Utd will ultimately plump for him, the Brighton one worries me the most at the moment.

I think these stories write themselves don't they?

Having said that, I jusr asked ChatGPT and CoPilot AIs to write a piece on their next manager and they both listed De Zerbi as a candidate!

ChatGPT has limited data, but CoPilot said... "Roberto De Zerbi: The outgoing manager, who is now available after leaving the club by mutual agreement. He could potentially return to the role."

That's my interpretation of what is going on.

I can't imagine Leif's agent has been backwards in coming forwards to Ashton, either!

Presumably Barry Fry’s time at Barnet forms part of its training data.
