Please for the love of god will people stop... 01:27 - May 21 with 19128 viewslizzibee

Just back from Dussleford to see endless threads and macabre posts about how McKenna has gone!

He hasn't! He is still employed by Ipswich and there is nothing at the club to suggest to the contrary.

A few lazy journalist posts, a couple of twitter ITK posts and beating odds which are just to make money and every one is all doom and gloom as though people can't make their own minds up just follow the crowd. Even the Brightn fans think we are an odd bunch. We sound like a bunch of kids

No, I don't see him going - not this year.

Did he look like a man wanting to leave when we beat Huddersfield (or the games leading up) no. He has invested in the club, chosen the players, helped design the new Playford Road etc - and this was even before we got promoted. Nothing will have changed.

If he didn't have the backing of the CEO or investors, yes, maybe time to worry, but that clearly is't the case.

His family are settled in the area and the kids at school/.

Fans worship him and him back.

Players totally respect him

So why is everyone heated? He isn't a man looking for out - he is a man starting a journey and that I am sure is still with us for a while.

Man U and Chelsea wont touch him - he's untested in this league and in fairness the league below and management. - too risky at the moment. As for Brighton -there is nothing much to worry about - its where the club want to be so why would he not do th at journey with us. People go this worried about Palace. He has just over two years in management - he's done amazing but is untested and still raw...

Our fans like for nothing but to moan, panic and think the worst.

As Ashton said, if it hasn't come from the club don't believe it. And no, we don't need the club to come out with a Statement.

God, if I was McKenna and reading all these posts (plus other social media) I'd be thinking the fans don't really care as they are already sorting my replacement. And I'd bet he and the players do read all this.

Can we all just grow up, stop believing social medial messages and actually listen to the club? And go back and watch all the interviews and see all the clip and ask yourself if this is a man who wants out, and cut his journey short?

If it is any help for you Ipswich supporters, the manager has got to be 100% right for our club.

From experience the press will keep going on about one name, but it usually turns out to be someone completely different. Nobody had really heard of Potter or De Zerbi before they came to Brighton, so there is some hope.

If it does happen, have you thought about Potter?

In fairness, most of us had heard of Potter before he went to you, and many had wanted him here previously.
We're all hoping that McKenna stays though.

Even ignoring the bit about me not going to games for a second (although how many people from Romford growing up would have picked Ipswich to get a season ticket to and follow around the country despite never having met a single other Ipswich fan in their childhood). I can be faulted for many things but I think club loyalty isn’t in question. Especially having also done around 100 away games in the last 8/9 years I’d have thought. Putting all that asides…

I don’t even think I’ve posted whether I think he will stay or go. So the bit about me basing my opinion on social media is absolute nonsense from him/her/they/them/it. Absolutely no idea where that’s come from. The only thing I’ve said about it is that I’d post something about the Crystal Palace move for him a few months ago but wouldn’t say anything whilst he was still here as that’s negative discussion nobody wants to hear.

I think that Lizzibee has come across terribly here in this thread actually and outright unlikeable.

I don't know Lizzibee from Adam (or Eve), and despite her incorrect assertions about your Portman Road attendances I think you're being a little harsh saying she's "outright unlikeable."

None of us want Kieran to go and we all deal with that possibility (however great or remote) differently. Lizzibee puts forward good arguments as to why KMcK would/should stay and is probably irked by the volume of posts talking about his imminent departure when there's little substantial to support that belief other than speculation and bookmaker odds at present. There's almost a feeling here that some posters would rather hear that he's leaving rather than have the uncertainty of not knowing and this is probably the reason for her "you are part of the problem" comment - because the angst on the forum comes across almost as fearing it into existence. I doubt very much that she is trying to clamp down on your (or anyone else's) freedom of expression.

If there was ever a case for a single "Kieran Speculation" thread this is it because the sheer volume of threads on the matter makes us look like a laughing stock to rival fans. If I was a budgie I would find the apparent panic on display here deeply consoling after their disappointing season.

I don't think anyone has to 'prove' their poverty to anyone, it's just the decent thing to leave it.

Either a) she's telling the truth or b) she isn't - but it doesn't do any of us any harm to just take it as a) and let her be if she isn't telling the truth.

I'm not saying anyone has to prove anything. I just found it highly unlikely at the time that someone would go without food in order to get away football tickets... and then can suddenly afford a foreign holiday.

Bear in mind this was in a thread where I was bemoaning not being able to get away London tickets and this poster was criticising me saying you have to make sacrifices.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Totally agree. Utter nonsense and all the hand-wringing going on on here is appalling.

Has no one listened to a word KM has said all season? We are on a journey, he is enjoying the journey. He is on a journey himself as a coach and a person, every single day to improve. He is enjoying the process and not focused on the outcome (s). To decide otherwise and to leave would go against every SINGLE thing he has said this season, including after the Huddersfield game, 2 weeks ago.

If he decides to leave, it will show he doesn't have much faith in his future ability with us, which we know not to be true as he is supremely confident in his own ability. His reputation will be much, MUCH higher showing loyalty, staying with us and succeeding next season. Have a little faith in the man and stop all this weeping etc,

How would anyone on here know how other peoples’ finances are going, or even want to?

People can get new jobs, have come into an inheritance, got together with someone who’s better off, etc etc. or any other change of circumstance.

It's annoying from both sides. Yours is just as bad, you know absolutely nothing about what is going to happen either.

However I'll wager that your last paragraph is going to age very badly and look a bit silly come the end of June

People are reading so much into a few words which have inherent wriggle room.

“increasingly likely” can mean KM’s about 10% of the way towards leaving us for Brighton, or 90%.

I prefer to believe 10%. Anyone feeling that makes me‘delusional’ is free to do so if it relieves their stress and makes them feel better.

Phil's words are fairly ominous and there's little doubt that he's more in the know than anyone else posing here. Also, I never said it was "idle speculation", but it is still speculation. I think Phil chose his words carefully but many posters here have interpreted it as a fait accompli.

Your logic here assumes zero knowledge of Phil and how he responds to speculation. We know Phil is quite understated, he just doesn't use increasingly more likely as flippantly as you're hoping

Dolly has been quite consistent on not going with these rumours until a more trusted source has amplified them, so I think it's a fair position.

Hold up Herbs you’re agreeing with me here despite seemingly saying otherwise?

The OP is asking people to stop discussing anything negative. I’m saying people can post what they like and I’m not a fan of discussion being attempted to be shut down.

How is that any different to what you’re saying except for some weird reason you’ve chosen my post and disagreed as if were not saying the exact same thing?

Not really agreeing or disagreeing, I can see both sides. However, having seen how the OP responded to you it does seem like they're being a bit of a bellend about this.

Your first paragraph is incorrect; and I haven’t even remotely assumed anything “flippant” in Phil’s comment.

You’ve actually corroborated my point by reading between the lines of my own post, something which simply wasn’t there.

I think everyone has thought about Potter.

Not sure if he is in our reach or not IF Mckenna does leave, but Potter is probably the only appoitment that i'd feel ok about and would soften the blow of losing Mckenna. Edwards, Carrick and the other names that have been mentioned are all a bit meh for me.

Carrick and Rosenior whilst playing the right way really failed with arugably better squads that Mckenna had at his dipsoal. It's not about missing out but how far off the pace they were. Rosenioer especially really didn't make use of some exceelent players he had.

Her reply to your first post was ill-informed at best but I don't think she's trying to limit anyone's freedom of expression, just expressing that she doesn't like the moaning and the discussions about a possible replacement to KMcK.

I see how you might interpret what she said as free speech limitation but then again you saying "he/she has no right to dictate who says what" is kinda similar, no?
