Please for the love of god will people stop... 01:27 - May 21 with 19120 views | lizzibee | Just back from Dussleford to see endless threads and macabre posts about how McKenna has gone! He hasn't! He is still employed by Ipswich and there is nothing at the club to suggest to the contrary. A few lazy journalist posts, a couple of twitter ITK posts and beating odds which are just to make money and every one is all doom and gloom as though people can't make their own minds up just follow the crowd. Even the Brightn fans think we are an odd bunch. We sound like a bunch of kids No, I don't see him going - not this year. Did he look like a man wanting to leave when we beat Huddersfield (or the games leading up) no. He has invested in the club, chosen the players, helped design the new Playford Road etc - and this was even before we got promoted. Nothing will have changed. If he didn't have the backing of the CEO or investors, yes, maybe time to worry, but that clearly is't the case. His family are settled in the area and the kids at school/. Fans worship him and him back. Players totally respect him So why is everyone heated? He isn't a man looking for out - he is a man starting a journey and that I am sure is still with us for a while. Man U and Chelsea wont touch him - he's untested in this league and in fairness the league below and management. - too risky at the moment. As for Brighton -there is nothing much to worry about - its where the club want to be so why would he not do th at journey with us. People go this worried about Palace. He has just over two years in management - he's done amazing but is untested and still raw... Our fans like for nothing but to moan, panic and think the worst. As Ashton said, if it hasn't come from the club don't believe it. And no, we don't need the club to come out with a Statement. God, if I was McKenna and reading all these posts (plus other social media) I'd be thinking the fans don't really care as they are already sorting my replacement. And I'd bet he and the players do read all this. Can we all just grow up, stop believing social medial messages and actually listen to the club? And go back and watch all the interviews and see all the clip and ask yourself if this is a man who wants out, and cut his journey short?

Hadn't seen that, thanks. I went by his press release, which I got yesterday evening (my time, +6 hours), where it's simply "increased speculation". Surprised Phil said that tbh. Let's see.

Not sure about that, read very much like a "I know better than all of you" vibe. Farcical to come on an ITFC fans forum and bemoan us all for speculating on the Manager's future. It's not north korea and the OP is not KIm Jong Un - within the confines of Phil's rules, people can discuss whatever they want. No one poster's will usurps another. [Post edited 21 May 2024 9:26]

Also, given you claimed to have gone without eating in order to get Ipswich tickets, how on earth do you now afford a trip to Dusseldorf? You must've done well for yourself in the interim. |
That's a pretty despicable comment to make - and I think the OP was bang out of order to Rommers but this is too far.

It's not speculation is it - there is clearly firm interest there and almost certainly they have asked to speak to him. If they've met the release clause there won't be much we can do. We just need to hope that KM decides to stay here for another year. I'm buoyed by the fact Kompany looks like he's going to Bayern though. That might well show KM that even if we are relegated, he can still get a top job. The issue is that Brighton and him seem a perfect fit and it might be 4-5 years before this job came up again. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

When Phil and Joe are both hearing it from multiple sources it's pretty much confirmed that they are interested. Doesn't mean he will go and I really hope he stays.

No one has said there isn't firm interest. But IT IS speculaton that he is going to join Brighton as people seem to now be resigned to. Phil saying it is increasinly likely is still speculation on his part. Clearly Mckenna will / is talking to Brighton as is his right to see what they have to say and offer. However for me i don't think what ever Brighton put on the table it will be enough to remove Mckenna from what he has started here.. That's my personal thoughts nothing more, but i'm fairly confident when he leaves Ipswich it won't be for Brighton before August 24.

In fairness to Dollers here, the OP did once repeatedly say that they go without eating to find tickets to their away matches. Which was almost definitely an exaggeration at the time. I remember reading it and wondering why the need to exaggerate to that extent was made but when Dollers challenged him/her, the response was to double down. So I think it’s fair game for Dollers to then bring it up again here

Depends how "speculation" is defined I guess. For me, there's no confirmation that Kieran or his representatives have been contacted/spoken to or anything to confirm ITFC have been contacted (unlikely we'd announce that anyway of course). The media is bouncing as it's a potentially big story and bookies are putting odds together. Still not even wet cement, let alone concrete. Perhaps I'm being delusional because I don't want it to happen, but still don't see anything that's telling me it is. It is a good fit for him now, but you mention 4-5 years time and I would have thought McK, now we're in the Prem, would have aspirations to take ITFC higher in the pyramid than Brighton.

Assuming I’m ‘the other side’, I feel like I’ve every right to give some back when I was given a bit of a personal attack ‘don’t go to games; can’t think for myself; etc’ for no reason other than saying people should be allowed to post what they like. As I would. You know me R.. I always play the ball and not the man/woman. In this case, I’ve very right to defend myself. It’s all very unnecessary. But unless I receive an apology, I’ll quite happily maintain he/she is a bit of a tithead

KM's stated aspirations are to coach a CL club again and probably sooner rather than later. I find it highly unlikely he'll want to stay 4-5 years when he's already being linked with Chelsea, United and Bayern. Staying here 4-5 years means that maybe, if things fall into place, we might just about be at Brentford or Brighton's level.

Nearly any manager would be intested if an established Premier league club says they want them. So Phil and Joe's multiple sources are not wrong. What is wrong is the interpetation of them. Just because you speak to a club does not mean you want or will join them. You are seeing what's out there what clubs will offer. What others are doing. Mckenna is shrewed. He may be waying up their offer to compare against others he may get in the future. I just don;t see them having an offer at this time that makes Kieran leave what he has built here...for the moment.

Trying to be objective here “increasingly likely” can mean KM’s about 10% of the way towards leaving us for Brighton, or 90%. I prefer to believe 10%. Anyone feeling that makes me‘delusional’ is free to virtually shoot me if it relieves their stress and makes them feel better.

Please for the love of god will people stop... on 09:59 - May 21 with 1546 views | baha | If it is any help for you Ipswich supporters, the manager has got to be 100% right for our club. From experience the press will keep going on about one name, but it usually turns out to be someone completely different. Nobody had really heard of Potter or De Zerbi before they came to Brighton, so there is some hope. If it does happen, have you thought about Potter?

I don't think anyone has to 'prove' their poverty to anyone, it's just the decent thing to leave it. Either a) she's telling the truth or b) she isn't - but it doesn't do any of us any harm to just take it as a) and let her be if she isn't telling the truth.
