Please for the love of god will people stop... 01:27 - May 21 with 19130 views | lizzibee | Just back from Dussleford to see endless threads and macabre posts about how McKenna has gone! He hasn't! He is still employed by Ipswich and there is nothing at the club to suggest to the contrary. A few lazy journalist posts, a couple of twitter ITK posts and beating odds which are just to make money and every one is all doom and gloom as though people can't make their own minds up just follow the crowd. Even the Brightn fans think we are an odd bunch. We sound like a bunch of kids No, I don't see him going - not this year. Did he look like a man wanting to leave when we beat Huddersfield (or the games leading up) no. He has invested in the club, chosen the players, helped design the new Playford Road etc - and this was even before we got promoted. Nothing will have changed. If he didn't have the backing of the CEO or investors, yes, maybe time to worry, but that clearly is't the case. His family are settled in the area and the kids at school/. Fans worship him and him back. Players totally respect him So why is everyone heated? He isn't a man looking for out - he is a man starting a journey and that I am sure is still with us for a while. Man U and Chelsea wont touch him - he's untested in this league and in fairness the league below and management. - too risky at the moment. As for Brighton -there is nothing much to worry about - its where the club want to be so why would he not do th at journey with us. People go this worried about Palace. He has just over two years in management - he's done amazing but is untested and still raw... Our fans like for nothing but to moan, panic and think the worst. As Ashton said, if it hasn't come from the club don't believe it. And no, we don't need the club to come out with a Statement. God, if I was McKenna and reading all these posts (plus other social media) I'd be thinking the fans don't really care as they are already sorting my replacement. And I'd bet he and the players do read all this. Can we all just grow up, stop believing social medial messages and actually listen to the club? And go back and watch all the interviews and see all the clip and ask yourself if this is a man who wants out, and cut his journey short?

He's got the masses frothing with his very brief thoughts You naughty scamp Phil. Yes there is something in it because he will have had talks with Brighton. Does it mean its likely that he'll go...Not for me and i think everyone should relax. Phil has been wrong before and will be again. He's given us his opinion, not what he knows. that is the sublte difference |
I do actually hope he is trolling us in this case

You sound like an absolute bell**d to be fair. And as for your ‘I assume you don’t go to games’ comment, I’ve a season ticket for the last 8 years from Romford and have averaged 12 away games a season in that time. So you’re talking utter b0llocks.

Please for the love of god will people stop... on 07:46 - May 21 by Herbivore | They can moan about what they like, just as others can post threads losing their heads over McKenna going. Wouldn't the forum be rather a dull place if everybody just agreed with each other all the time? |
Hold up Herbs you’re agreeing with me here despite seemingly saying otherwise? The OP is asking people to stop discussing anything negative. I’m saying people can post what they like and I’m not a fan of discussion being attempted to be shut down. How is that any different to what you’re saying except for some weird reason you’ve chosen my post and disagreed as if were not saying the exact same thing?

OP another example of people projecting their own feelings about the situation onto what McKenna might think and just disregarding anything they don’t agree with or don’t like, as well as dismissing reports as ‘lazy’ or ‘rumour’ because they don’t want them to be true, which is a bit daft really.

Even ignoring the bit about me not going to games for a second (although how many people from Romford growing up would have picked Ipswich to get a season ticket to and follow around the country despite never having met a single other Ipswich fan in their childhood). I can be faulted for many things but I think club loyalty isn’t in question. Especially having also done around 100 away games in the last 8/9 years I’d have thought. Putting all that asides… I don’t even think I’ve posted whether I think he will stay or go. So the bit about me basing my opinion on social media is absolute nonsense from him/her/they/them/it. Absolutely no idea where that’s come from. The only thing I’ve said about it is that I’d post something about the Crystal Palace move for him a few months ago but wouldn’t say anything whilst he was still here as that’s negative discussion nobody wants to hear. I think that Lizzibee has come across terribly here in this thread actually and outright unlikeable.

Spot on. Well said. Nobody has a right to try and tell others when and what they can post. And especially if it’s done with rudeness and arrogance. Can’t stand people like that in the world and unfortunately it’s a growing trend both on forums and social media.

Football has finished, and our highly rated manager is being linked with many clubs. It’s making news in the wider football world so very naive of you to not expect ITFC supporters talk about it on an ITFC forum.

It was the opening that made me lol the most tbh. "I've just come back from Dusseldorf..." Like an angry father returning from a hard day's work...why does anyone give two fs where you've just come back from?! Whoever the OP is, comes across as a very entitled and hubristic attention seeker. Should also be pointed out that if he's trying to avoid chatter about KM's future, then maybe coming on an Ipswich Town fans forum isn't the best best idea... [Post edited 21 May 2024 8:55]

Quite. Even the first bit "you cant think for yourself" or whatever it was. Just so unnecessary. And don't get me started on this BS super fan mentality some have got. Even if you didn't go to games, it does not make someone's opinion invalid. There are many reason people cant go. Financial reasons, personal reasons and some fans who aren't even in the country. Just an utterly childish thing to say.

My suspicion is that the Düsseldorf comment was a thinly veiled ‘look at me’ as they’d presumably been to the Fortuna game so was trying to show they’re a super fan by going as one of the Ipswich representatives who’ve gone over there for the game this weekend. It went downhill from there funnily enough.

Please for the love of god will people stop... on 08:58 - May 21 with 1676 views | NeedhamChris | You appear to be (rather unpleasantly) arguing against the very point of an online forum. The way you posted to Rommers in this thread is not the way to talk to one of our own who isn't a usual doom and gloom merchant. Phil has said that it does appear increasingly likely to happen. That's why we're feeling it!

Go easy mate. The poor OP has just come back from Dusseldorf, that one hour change in time zones can do funny things to people. Getting those 1hr 5 min flights can be brutal. Once his body clock adjusts and jet lag wears off then I'm sure they'll calm down.

That's how situations get blown out of all proportion, because he's said nothing like that. He's said there's increased speculation. At this stage, that's all it is. |
